Having problems with your Dyson DC05 Cylinder Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum ?

My DC05 Dyson suction has stopped...there are no blockages, the seals are good, there seems to be more suction coming from a yellow box which is situated at the top of the removable cannister. There is nothing obvious'

Answers :

My Dyson had exactly the same problem. I found the problem was caused by a blockage in the hose. Take the hose out where it joins the cleaner (it will come out if you pull it downwards gently) and take the hose out of the handle by squeezing the yellow buttons on either side. I pushed a rubber alkathene pipe down and found a piece of plastic was blocking it even though at first I was sure it wasn't blocked.
\015\012You will have A blockage in either flex hose or metal wand.
\015\012To prove this Remove the hose completely from machine switch machine on there should be good suction from where hose connected to machine.
\015\012this will prove if hose or wand are blocked.
\015\012To remove blockage slide boom handle down hose to push out blockage same with wand if thats blocked.

Get a different brand vacuum. Dyson's are easily the worst vacuum I've ever owned. I've tried the DC14, DC25 and DC33 they are all heavy plastic POS's made in Malaysia. I've owned every kind of vacuum under the sun. Rainbow, Kirby, Oreck, Riccar, Seb ... Vacuums

My Dyson just stopped sucking up dirt. I have checked all the obvious things like clogs and filters. I noticed when I turn it on, there is a valve on the top of the cannister that opens and you can feel suction from the vent hole. Is this valve malfunctioning, or is it working correctly because something else is malfunctioning?

No suction I have the central vac type. It has no suction at the can. I pulled the hose going to the walls and tested there...and nothing. I removed the dirt can and checked the motor ...it is spinning but does not feel like any suction. I checked the exhaust and it is pushing strong air out. I also cleaned the filter and still nothing. Is there a relay or something that would cause only exhaust air. I emptied the can of dirt and put it back together and have absolutely no air.....hear the motor

On some units there is a screen that protects the impeller of the motor. If this gets sealed off with debris then it is like putting a potato in the tail pipe of a car. Taking the top off the unit reveals the motor. DO UN-PLUG the unit first from th ... Electrolux Central Vacuum

Poor suction...continued Wow, thanks for answering so quickly! To answer your question, yes, there is suction at the screen, but it is very weak. I keep that screen clean. As a side note, I noticed that when I remove the top clear plastic cover (that would be part # 37 on the diagram, as far as I can tell) there is decent suction coming from the intake there--part 36? 30? it's hard to tell. But with the cover on, I feel no suction (from where it sucks up the water directly from the carpet),

Wish I had it in my shop, it is hard to figure your problem. I do know that you must have something out of place and you may have to take it apart to find it. I have a windtunnel 2 vacuum. It sucked up a cord that wrapped around the beater bar. Now the bar won't turn. There was no smoke or sign of something burning. The motor still runs and there is suction but no turning. We have it apart but nothing is obvious. What should I check?

Check the actual beater bar for movement. I have seen the plastic melting, and bearings seized under such circumstances. Also I am unsure by your question, but the motor that creates the vacuum (sucking) is different than the motor that spins your ... Vacuums

I bought the vac, used, but was told there was nothing wrong with it. I called the company, and was given the impression that it will be a huge headache to return it. Here's the best part: when I received it, I opened the box: it was broken. Clearly the highest internal piece of the vacume, whent he handle is removed, was cracked off, and in two pieces. The handle will not lock into place, so if I were to vacume forward, see ya, and the vac is back in pieces. Any idea how to rig this to get it t

My Electrolux guardian C135 vac has lost suction. replacing the bag does nothing. removing the HEPA filter has no effect - what do you suggest? Will a replacement HEPA filter make any significant difference?

Dyson DC 14 hose has no suction, with or without brush attachments. Hot air shoots out from the base of the canister when I try to use the hose. I cleaned the top filter, but can't figure out how to remove the hepa filter to clean it without destroying the case. It looks like it might take three hands to insert pennies and "flip" the case open as is suggested on a youtube video for a different model. Would this even help, assuming I could get the thing open?

Mystery part Bissell 1699-P. I removed the top cover and a part came tumbling out (from the rear of the machine - towards the handle area). I have no idea were this part belongs. I have a schematic of the cleaner but I can not locate the part on it. I tried to copy and paste a picture of the part but that isn't working so I will attempt to discribe the part: There is nothing stampted on the part that I can see.
