Placing the handle of my Dyson DC07 into its upright and locked position causes the beater bar to stop turning. It will not start turning until the handle is first lowered to the working position and the Carpet/Bare knob is moved to the Bare Floor position and then back to the Carpet position. Then the beater bar turns until the handle is placed into the upright position. What might be the problem?

My Dyson DC 24's beater bar switch didn't actuate and the beater bar didn't turn. When I brought it to a certified serviceman he told me that a wire interferred with the switch and all he had to do was move the wire out of the way of the switch. At the time the machine was under warrantee and it didn't cost me anything. Now however, the machine is out of warrantee and the problem has returned. Does anyone know how to access the switch and move the wire out of the way?

My dyson animal is hard to push on carpet - the beater bar is still operational. When I turn off the beater bar and run the vacuum on hardwood the beater bar stops moving, but it still ''rolls'' on the hardwood - it doesn't pull up like it used to. It also seems to not be picking up as well as it used to, although no blockages are present and the filter is clean.
