I have the Dyson animal upright vacuum. It's 2 years old and now it just isn't working as well as it once did. Suction seems to be lacking - it's not picking up pet hair or much else from the carpet. I have to go over the spot for a few minutes and still, the hair isn't picked up.

No suction Hello - any help with this would be much appreciated! I just changed the bag and filters. The machine runs, seems normal, but there is no suction. There is no blockage of the hose, as indicated by the fact that that little viewer window above where the hose connects to the unit is not showing the red portion that it shows when there is something blocking the hose (god, this is hard to describe!). If I disconnect the hose and put my hand over the hole, I feel some suction. But
Well, it actually sounds like there is a blockage. Try removing your hose and dropping something through it, like a quqrter. If it comes through, no clog. If it is clogged, I believe that machine has a blower on the upper part of the cleaner (mayb ... Miele S514 Solaris Electro Plus Vacuum
My dyson vacuum cleaner doesn't seem to have the same suction power it used to. I have cleaned out the canister and have taken apart the vacuum head (for cleaning carpets) and it doesn't seem to be blocked but it seems to lose suction by the time it reaches the head. The suction is strong at the end of the hose (where you attach the telescopic attachment with vacuum head) Any ideas? Thanks, Irene
The suction in the hose of my 2 year old Dyson Animal vacuum is compromised. I may have sucked up a small cat toy or something. Regular vac still is fine. The hose "sucks closed" after a few seconds near the top. I love my Dyson! Please help.
Hi there, it sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To test this, remove the wand handle from the hose and test the suction at the top of the hose. I now have the cleaner in my garage and am using my old vacuum because I just can't seem to get anywhere with Sears. Please help me. We paid almost $600.00 and now it can't b

No suction Just received my refurb. dyson animal bagless. Finally figured out how to get it all together, turned it on and there is no suction coming up thru the beater bar. The hair is just collecting around the bar and not going up into the canister. It appears all the suction is going thru the open red end of the attachment hose, which has a vented cover piece. Am I missing a piece or is there a switch to turn of the attachment suction?
So the red hose isn't connected to a part on the vaccum so like it is connected to the connester but not to an opening just above the beater bar, this is the only idea i can supply you with. good luck, maybe i got lucky and helped you out. ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
My Dyson DC17 has lost suction on the wand and is not picking up dirt as it should. I have taken the small part at bottom of the machine off to see if there is a blockage--none that I can see. The flexible tube on wand is very tight and won't extend very much. Dyson sent me a new cyclonic part in April but the machine still doesn't seem to be working properly. My serial number is 260-us-d11545. Is there somewhere I can take my Dyson to get it fixed. I'm very frustrated with it. Thank you.
