Having problems with your Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

A loud grinding noise happens in the tilted/unlocked position. This noise can be heard when running over the fringe of an area carpet. What causes that noise?

Hi there it's SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. It is the clutch of the brush activating. It is designed to stop the brush from chewing up curtains etc. If it is too sensitive it is either a faulty clutch, worn brush bearings or the end caps of the brush are full of dirt and muck. If you take off the bottom cover and lift up the brush the black caps on the ends can be removed and cleaned. If this doesnt fix the problem then it is the clutch or brush itself. I can help you with either of these problems but I would rather you try this first (im a bad typer). I can get any parts at all for the Dyson machines so if you need anything just ask on my website contact me page. Hope this helps!. Happy Vacuuming :)

Using a Hoover Steamvac to clean my carpets. It works fine in some areas, but others it makes a clicking noise and stops sucking water. Once I turn the vacuum off and wait a few seconds, it clicks once more and is okay to use again. Certain parts of my carpet this happens so frequently I can't vacuum.

When vacuuming carpet with the electric power brush it will ocassionly , go to zero suction mode and shut off the brush. I have tried to cause it to happen by playing with the joint areas ( handle to tube and tube to power brush) without sucess. Hello, could you help please. I have a Bissel ProHeat 9400-M. The water remains in the bladder when the machine is on, in other words nothing happens and I cannot clean with it. Inside the tank the small flap is in the open position. I have always used your products although I did run the Bissell over an area that had been cleaned with another product. Could that have caused the problem by blocking it somewhere? I have cleaned everything and cannot see a blockage. Thank you for your help.

The vacuum is making a noise like something is stuck when it is in the carpet position but not when in the floor position. I can't find anything that is stuck in the areas that I can see. I have cleaned the brush but it does not seem to want to turn. Does this machine need to be oiled so the roller will turn? Is there a way to check inside the motor? Do you think that because the brush won't turn that is making the noise? Do you know of any repair shops in the Lake Havasu City, Arizona area?

As far as the roller brush goes, yes, it does need to be cleaned. Follow the directions to remove it and clean as best you can of all debris. On both ends of the roller brush there will be two "holders" of sort that connect the brush to the frame o ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Carpet cleaning brush noise. When put in carpet cleaning mode, a loud noise comes from the brush bar area. We see no visible obstructions and have cleared threads and hair.

It's likely that one of the brush roll bearings has worn out. This is not uncommon. I think you'll find that you have to replace both the brush roll and the sole plate at the same time. Dyson sell them together as a kit. ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have a dyson dc07 with a malfuncitoning clutch diagnosed here on fixya. I've replaced the clutch and the grinding noise when the clutch is engaged for carpet and non rotating brush problem presists. This is after replacement of the clutch with a new part. Install of the new part went well and there are no otehr apparent problems with the unit. Ideas? The unit is only a couple years old and not used that much on carpet. For an expensive vacuum I'm not that impressed with it at this point.

I have two older Filter Queen (brown vacuum cleaners). Besides unclogging the hose area and making sure it is not filled with dirt, what else would cause the machine to run hot and have a high pitched sound? Is there another area where I might have clogs?

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?
