The vacuum cleaner does not pick up anything from carpet. It does not even pick up pieces of thread laying on carpet. On tile floors it blows dirt away instead of picking it up. I've tried all the settings on the brush and nothing works. It has done this since new

I have a dyson dc21. All the sudden the hose is hardly suctioning up anything. If I take the canaster off, the top air hole suctions extrememly well, but when I place that canister back on, the suction is not going thru the hose and picking anything up. I have squeezed the hose, I feel no air leaking and do not feel any blockages...what could be wrong. It worked fine the other day and today, it won't pick up a piece of lint!

My dyson animal is hard to push on carpet - the beater bar is still operational. When I turn off the beater bar and run the vacuum on hardwood the beater bar stops moving, but it still ''rolls'' on the hardwood - it doesn't pull up like it used to. It also seems to not be picking up as well as it used to, although no blockages are present and the filter is clean.

I have a Dyson all-floor model (not the ball). I recently replaced my carpet to a Frieze. Since replacing the carpet, the Dyson is extremely hard to push. It almost forms a "seal" with the carpet. Seems to work fine on Berber carpet and laminate floor. My husband has checked to make sure the brushes are working, hoses are not clogged and belts are OK. I've had it for about a year. It is virutally impossible to push on the new carpet. Any ideas?

Have you adjusted the brush control system. If you look at the link below page 6 will tell you how to adjust. If this is not you vacuum please give the model # of the one you have so I can help you more.\015\012\015\012 ... Dyson DC14 All floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My dyson seems to have lost its suction therefore is not picking up anything yet i have found that when my dyson is standing upright it has a little more suction but nothing like how it use to work. This has only happend in the last 2 weeks. I sanded a floor & though the sander picked up majority of the dust i did use the dyson to pick up the excess and it is since then that my dyson has not been working to its full potential.

I have an animal dyson. The front nose dives into the carpet when moving the dyson in the forward motion, fine when pulling back. A huge amount of effort is required to move it forward. Took it to a technician and he said he could find nothing wrong. He had only short nap carpet for test. Works fine on short nap, if the carpet nap has any lenght to it like shag, the dyson severly nose dives. It's like the nose is sucked into the carpet. This problem just occured after the wife used the ho

Poor Suction Heya! So I just picked up a used Dyson, but when I vacuum with it, the suction is pretty weak and it spits all kinds of stuff out the back and into my feet. When I pull the hose I have good suction, but in regular mode it hardly picks up anything. The brushes are spinning, and it eventually will clean an area if I go over it again and again. Maybe a clog somewhere? Please tell me that Dysons have better suction than my $50 Dirt Devil! Thanks!

I recently bought a second hand Dyson DC07. Its suction was poor. I removed all the un-clipable pipe bits and to remove any blockage but it all looked clear. The Final Sponge and hepper filter did have a lot of dust in it and the rotating brush was f ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

The suction is good, but it can't pick up most of the stuff on the floor. The hand held hose works very well, but it doesn't even pick up little fuzzies reliably when I push it along. And, the suction is too hard I think because it used to push easily and now I have to push really hard, even on flat carpet.

Check entire length of hose, including the piece in the power head, for clogs. Simply drop a marble in one end and allow it to roll out the other. If it doesn't, then the hose is clogged somewhere. ... Dyson DCO7 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have an Electrolux LITE upright carpet cleaner - about 15 years old. Suddenly last night when using it, from the normal motor (whooshing) sound, the motor suddenly went very slow and with a slight grinding sound. The brushes are now just turning round very slowly and areobviously not picking up anything. Has the motor gone or is this repairable, or should I just get a new cleaner? My DC07 Animal won't pick up the nap in the carpet - what's wrong? The brush is clean and it picks up the dirt, just not the nap.

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

Does the epic 3500 have a belt? It seems that when running on the carpet setting, it is very noisy and is not picking up the way it should. When we run it on the floor setting, it sounds better, but the rolloer doesn't go around to fluff the carpet. What is wrong?

Yes, it does. It definitely sounds like a broken belt. And the noise would probably be due to the belt still being in the machine and hitting the motor shaft.\015\012Due to some difficulty in reassembling the powerhead and getting the belt to ... Electrolux Epic 3500 Vacuum

I have the Dyson animal upright vacuum. It's 2 years old and now it just isn't working as well as it once did. Suction seems to be lacking - it's not picking up pet hair or much else from the carpet. I have to go over the spot for a few minutes and still, the hair isn't picked up.

Dyson Dco7 animal not picking up from floor. Checked all connection valves and cleaned filter and brushes. Also check tube for cracks and nothing there. Wand suction is great just almost non on floor section. Please help!

I just bought a Dyson DC 14 All Floors Vacuum and assembled it exactly as the manual said. It sounded normal as I went over hard floors but as soon as I went on carpet, the vacuum was extremely loud. There's no strings or debris in the powerhead... what else would cause this?

There is a knob setting at the footing for carpet and bare floor can help. Otherwise check out a little plastic for suction path from the bottom to the dirt container: it may loose, just snap it in. ... Dyson DC14 All floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My Dyson DC07 has recently been service and was making a clattering noise and very hard to push. We have taken it back and he has changed the clutch mechanism under the base which has solved the clattering, but it is still really hard to push because of the suction. It is even lifting the carpet in one room. Can you tell me what the possible reasons for this could be? One thought we had was that the little rubber wheels on the bottom cover could have worn so the hoover is closer to the floor

On the sole plate you should have 5 little wheels, these are prone to jamming after a while. You should make sure these are not jammed in anyway.\012\012You can release these with a screwdriver, but be careful not to prize too hard as you ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
