Having problems with your Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

Answers :

Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested.\015\012Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40.

My Oreck XL was working fine, then when I vacuumed a shag rug is started smoking and smelled like something is burning. (I changed the bag, checked for clogs--none found, and roller brush is turning. It has a metal handle.) Now I am afraid to use it.

Even though the brush is spinning, the belt is probably worn out and stretched. when you vacuum the shag carpet, it puts more drag on the brush. try running it on a shorter carpet or hard floor for a few minutes. if it doesn't smoke, then you know i ... Oreck XL2000 Bagged Upright Vacuum

Roller Brush How do I install the roller brush. I didn't pay attention when I removed it and now when I attempt to vacuum my low carpet it doesn't seem to be working. The green light on the head of the vacuum goes out when I click it down to the floor. It didn't used to do that. Plus I think I smell something burning. Could the belt be broken?

I have a Bissell pet hair eraser model #3920. It's been working great until last night. I went to use it and the brush won't spin. It also smells like it's burning. I checked the belt and it looks fine, and the brush spins by hand easily. It's not clogged anywhere that I can see. Anyone have any other ideas? This vacuum is only 8 months old.

I have a cb9191j-10a vacuum that works fine but I am really disappointed by the small screw-on filter that quickly clogs up with dust and debris. There must be a larger type filter that could be used and this would make for a really fine vacuum. Could you suggest an alternative filter?

Model UH60010, Series X12.0, Mfg code K09A. While attempting to use the hose and the extensions to clean shelves, my wife reported no suction. I'm using (or WAS using) a Eureka ''the boss'' model 8803. The belt broke, no biggie, so I replaced it with a Eureka model U belt, the problem is when I put the new belt on and turn on the vaccuum, the belt breaks again. I am also having trouble getting the brush roller to fit right when the belt is in place. I can't find any sharp edges that would cut the belt, nor can I find where any small bits may have broken. Anyone have a solution for me?

First, make sure you have the right belt, second, i am thinking that you are not lineing the roller up right, it will only fit one way. look at the ends of the roller and the grooves where it slides in, you should be able to see clearly how it goes. ... Vacuums

The bottom bar that encases the brush is flush to the floor when using the vacuum. This causes the suction to "stick" the vacuum to the floor (lamenate) and also as there is no ground clearance debris is just pushed around. We have to nearly stand the thing upright to get the ground clearance to be enough for things to start being sucked up. I have taken apart, re-assembled etc and nothing is working.

I'm having the same problem.  The bottom plate is not level with the floor unless the vacuum is nearly in the upright position.  Its like there should be a spring pushing the bottom plate towards the floor.  Anyone know how to fix this ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?

I replaced the clutch in the dyson dc14. it isnt making that terrible noise anymore....thank god!! but the roller brush is not moving when the vacuum is in use. whats wrong?
