Having problems with your Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

Terrible noise when I vacuum some of my carpets

\015 I just recently purchased the DC07 Animal from Costco. I have hard wood, marble, and large area rugs to vacuum. I have been more than please with the performance except for the floor settings. When I set my vacuum for carpet it makes a terrible hacket on and off. It also requires such force to move the vacuum it feels like I'm going to dislocate my shoulder pushing it around.\015\012I have read the manual and I do not see that I am missing anything. Can you offer any suggestions.\015\012\015\012Kim\015

That is the clutch you are hearing and what it is doing is jamming up. Check for anything jammed in the brush, if not you may need to take it in for service to have that replaced or the object is lodged in the clutch itself.

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?
