While using, steam stopped coming out in force at the port levels in the head. Suddenly started high pitch whining, pressed button just above connection site and end flew off with great force pouring water onto floor and carpet. Unplugged immediately for safety and unable to get it to deliver steam force again. Less than one year old and used only 8-10 times only in walk areas where there is no carpet with distilled water. Please, advise, cannot find booklet. Thanks So Much, Beverly Crumme

Hoover WindTunnel S3765. The motor spins and the belt turns when I turn the brushes on, and the brushes will spin. The problem is that when I do this on carpet, the brushes stop spinning. As soon as I pull the "head" off the carpet, the brushes spin again. It's almost as if the vacuum suction is too great. I took the head apart and watched the motor turn the metal spindle that the belt rests on, and the belt turns as well.

With cleaning carpets with the Stowaway when the head gets a blockage it makes a high pitched whining sound and requires unblocking - then works fine. Now when vacuuming the head always makes the same sound when the head is against the carpet. you can also see that the rollers are slow or stopped. We have pulled the Stowaway virtually completely apart and checked for blockages as well as washed the filter and no difference. Any ideas?

I don't feel that the vac is close enough to the carpet anymore .. it's almost like I have to push the head down so it reached the carpet to roll the brush through it ... I've tried a friends vac and it shows nicely that you've just vacuumed the carpet .. heavy traffic areas are not getting pulled back up .. I have the short shag type carpet .. Thanks

Folks, My wife and I own a three-year-old Hoover U6434-900 self-propelled "Wind Tunnel" upright vacuum cleaner. The problem is that, even on the highest setting (front-end as high as possible), it gets bogged-down in even shallow pile carpet to the point that the brush stops. I've cleaned the machine thoroughly, pulling hair, thread, dental floss and such from the brush (and everywhere else), including unscrewing the brush end caps and pulling out the cat hair mats which formed in there.

Brush Roll belt stops turning durring vacuuming on WindTunnel self-propelled, v belt is a little loose with handle down. Tensioning roll is engaged OK, but fully at the end of its travel. Replaced belts flat and v, but still stops turning even on high carpet setting when vacuuming. Carpet setting and height adjustment appears to be working OK, roll is clean and turns easily when out. Also turns easily until it engages the carpet. Self propel function works just fine.

Roller Brush How do I install the roller brush. I didn't pay attention when I removed it and now when I attempt to vacuum my low carpet it doesn't seem to be working. The green light on the head of the vacuum goes out when I click it down to the floor. It didn't used to do that. Plus I think I smell something burning. Could the belt be broken?

Try a new belt. The ends of the brushroller are different sizes, so you can't put it in backwards. There are numbers and notches on the ends of the brushroll. These notches/numbers need to match on both sides when installing it. (probably need b ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

The brush wouldn't work when the selector switch was in carpet mode. Took the power head apart and removed the motor. Everything o.k. in the power head. Checked and found that the neutural wire had pulled out of the connector, the connector was never crimped at the factory. What a day! Took 2 hours and a large pizza to get it done. Neutral wire was in the hose just below the handle. Reconnected the wire and crimped it, put everything back together. It works!!!!

The hose works great, but the head of the vaccuum does not pick up anything !!! I checked every opening that may have been clogged, but nothing came up. When I hold my hand under the brush/roller, it seems to be putting out more air than intaking air. Particles "dance" on the carpet, but don't get "sucked up" into the vaccuum ? I have had the vaccuum only 1 year, so the brushes should not be a problem. I changed the bag, and checked the belt. The belt and brushes seem to be OK. ?
