Loss of performance, belt seems ok filter is clean
The lifetime pre motor filter could be blocked, dust filter (Blue) in the circular housing end of motor housing. or the machine air intake is blocked or the cyclonic chamber needs removing and cleaning. All of the bits not silver grey can be removed take them off and clear out the tubes. If after this it has still got the lack of power the motor may be on its way out (but you would be able to smell it burning) hope this helps

Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?
Your looking for some dirt stuck in some thing you didn't check yet. with the roller out and the belt out of the way run it to see if it still makes the noise. if it does then you looking at the impeller or the motor bearing themselfs those bearin ... Bissell 3750 Lift Off Bagless Upright Vacuum
Why does my dyson slim dc18 keep shutting down, even though i keep it clean. Filters area is clean and all others have been properly blown out with air from a air compressor. It will work for about 5-10 minutes and then shuts down. Smells like ****, check the belt and a bit later it restarts again. It's seems to be almost over heating.
Maybe your motor is going. Here's a link to a site that talks about motor failure and replacement in a DC07 (not DC18). I don't know exactly what the odor smells like but maybe you can see if you have any of the other symptoms. Good luck! ... My Bissel Proheat smartmix bottle is emptying really fast and it doesn't seem like the carpet is even getting wet. I am just trying to do a rug in the kitchen and have filled the smartmix bottle 3x now and the rug is barely wet yet. I have cleaned out the flow indicator filter and it does not spin when I push the button like it used to. I have also checked the belt and it seems fine. I just bought a good Sears Kenmore Progressive 300 upright vacuum (116.38812891) today at a garage sale for five bucks. I left my relic Electrolux with the new owners of my former home during a recent relocation. In the interim I bought a Bissel 3750H which I do not care for, and borrowed a Eureka 7685 AU which performs somewhat better. I cleaned up the Kenmore, and though it seems to run well, noticed the drive belt is showing signs of degeneration. I would like to replace it, but was unable t
How to disassemble the brush to empty anything that might be stuck inside of the brush? The motor seems to be overheating, all belts have been checked, all airways are clear and the filter is clean. The vacuum is vibrating and releasing a burning smell, but still sucking up dirt. There is nothing stuck on the outside of the brush, but is there a way to check inside of it to see if that is where a clog is occuring?
If there's a burning smell and the belts are fine, the problem is going to be hot wires causing the insulation to melt, or the motor going bad. Discontinue use and have it checked at a repair shop. ... Bissell 6594 PowerForce Bagless Upright Vacuum

I have a nearly 9 year old Electrolux Excellio Z5228 vacuum cleaner. It has recently started cutting out during operation. I cleaned the micro filter (between bag & motor) via brush & hitting against wall & seems / looks quite clean. I washed the gore filter (output from motor to clean the exhaust air) as per instructions, then let to dry. It was very clogged but now very clean. The vacuum clearner still cuts out often. Even after a long rest (say overnight) it still won't start, then ano

I removed the filter from the motor in the ball. After I cleaned it and let it dry, I put it back in. From then on, it makes a moaning noise when I turn it off after I vacuum. I followed directions to clean it and put it back (it's pretty straight forward and fool proof). I've since cleaned the filter a second time, doing the same steps and it seems to have made it worse.

Electrolux twin clean vacuum cleaner. After 5 minutes it keeps of thinking the filters need cleaning (and they don't). I re charge the power, and all seems fine and then it goes back to wanting the filters cleaned. The suction is also not working to full capacity.
Because the suction is not working fully it feels that the bags must be full and the air cannot be pulled through the bags. It could be due to 1) bags not being of correct quality. The air has to pass through them to allow all the dust to reach there ... Vacuums
Generation 4 Apparently, my belt came off while vacumming. I had a lot of hari entwind on the roller, so cleaned off the hair.... but now I can't seem to get the belt to stay "in place". Is it supposed to move around on the brush? or be held in place? It seems to me when I try to get the hook to grab ahold of the belt, it is going tohe wrong way to grab it. Please HELP!

Filter I bought this Hoover a few years ago-- just now about to use it first time. I cannot find my user's manual and don't know how to change the filter-- or to clean it or whatever I am supposed to do with it. Also, there is a handle on one side of the unit that seems to be attached to an empty chamber or canister kind of thing. It looks like it should pull out, but it does not budge. I really would like to have a manual, but can't seem to find one. Is there a similar model that is still

Our Bissell Cleanview II 3576M does a great job except that the filter cup below the dirt cup gets full very fast and the dirt cup barely has anything in it. To clean the whole house, I have to empty the dirt cup and clean the filter several times. It didn't use to work this way. It seems like something is missing, a gasket or seal maybe? I don't think dirt, hair and debris should be going straight to the lower cup and bypassing the upper. I looked at the user guide but can't see why it's happen

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John
It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum
