Dc17 -too much pet hair around the belt gears

\015 I have had my dc17 for 8 months from Best Buy. It has been in the shop for 2 months cuz of loud noise (sounds like a jet). They have replaced the beeter bar assembly and motor. Got it home after the 2nd repair and the beater bar stops and goes. The repairman now says the gear assembly has too much pet hair around it. I have talked to Dyson directly and they say go to a DC14 which has an enclosed belt and gear assembly. But all the reports I read on the 17 is how people with lots more dogs then my Golden Retriever have had no problems such as this. They say I can continue to use the 17 but will have to clean the gears each time after I vacuum. Any advise?\015

We have a new hoover bagless that is a couple months old. The pet hair attachment stopped working. The gear that turns the dual brushes on my Bissell Spot Lifter 1716 seems to be stripped. The belt looks loose as well, but when I take the belt cover and the brush assembly out, the gear that turns the brushes is loose and appears to be stripped on the cogs. When I turn the machine on the belt turns the gear but the brushes just sit there an vibrate. They make an attempt to turn now and then but not much. Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

My Bissell Model 3760-4 is not working properly. The belt has been replaced (and checked 3 times), but the brush bar does not move when the brush motor button is on. The little metal turning piece that turns the belt is turnable with one's finger when the belt is off, but when we put it all back together and turn on the vacuum, the brush bar does not go around and the burning belt smell returns. I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. It sounds as though a belt is rubbing or slightly off-track. The sound is extremely loud.
