My Dyson DC14 Blitz It will not switch on. I have checked the fuse in the plug and it is fine. I have also vreified that the switch is working by using a multimeter. I'm guesing that there is an internal fuse blown (or worse!). Any suggestions?

I ended up dismantling the Dyson in an effort to determine the problem. In doing so I discovered that if I rotated the motor backwards by a quarter of a turn, it came back to life. Rather odd really. I need to change out the short hose on the underside of my older Dyson DC 07 Animal (Light Purple). It is the one less than a foot long on the underside which is attached on one end to the main body of the vacuum(I was able to remove this one) and the top of the upper soleplate. The latter one seems to be glued or otherwise permanently attached.Any assistance you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

Hello Cynthia,\015\012\015\012It's not glued, but it can be a little difficult to remove. You need to twist and pull at the same time and it should pull off. If it's being stubborn, squirt a little bit of WD40 / penetrating fluid where th ... Vacuums

It looks like you need a professional repair. If you're really lucky this may just be a break in the flex, or the switch has failed - both relatively cheap and simple to sort out. More likely, though, is a problem with the motor (carbon brushes worn ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I need to replace the cord on an older Hoover upright, model S660, about 1986 vintage. The cord broke where it enters handle. Handle comes apart easily. Just not sure how to pop the switch out without breaking it. Was looking for a manual online to see parts diagram and/or instruction on disassembly and cant seem to find one for that old of vacuum.

I have a Z345 Electrolux cylinder vacuum cleaner, from the 1970s probably, but not used much. I have lost the guide. I forgot to change the bag before it was full. Smoke started to come out - smelling of burnt paper, not rubber. So switched off. It did not blow the fuse, and may be OK. I wish to inspect it. How do I open it up? Alos I have an air filter and a motor filter for it. I have often changed the air filter on the top. How do I get at the motor filter, if there is one? Than

I caught a shoe lace in my Dyson DC17; pulled it free, opened the brush/roller area and cleaned everything but the brush still won't work. Read somewhere that there is re-set button but the only one I found was to switch between the brush / sweep functions. Is there a fuse / connection / part that may need to be replaced?

I have a dyson animal dc17 vacuum and it totally died. Now I can't figure out which wires go where when I install my new motor. (motor #: 160906G) Do you happen to know where the various color wires go or a place I can see a diagram of the motor with wires attached? I should have taken a photo of it before tearing out the old motor. NO POWER My Dyson DCO4 Absolute (purple&lime) won't' switch on. I've checked the plug fuse, wall socket and also filters and hoses on machine all seem fine so think the problem is with the on/off button (maybe loose wire or something) but how do i get to it, is there a special way to remove the green on/off button in order to check the connection? Thankyou in advance for the help i am sure you will be able to provide.

The problem is almost certainly a fatigue break in the flex. These usually happen where the flex enters the handle through the rubber sleeve near the on off switch. You will need to cut about four inches off the wire and reconnect it to the switch. ... Vacuums

I have a Husqvarna Viking Designer sewing machine. The fuse blew in the machine and I am having trouble finding a replacement fuse. It is a T3.5/250v glass fuse. Please let me know where to find one. I have searched the internet high and low and can't find one. Radio Shack has a 3.0amp 250v slow blow fuse whick seems to be the right dimensions. Willl that work. Otherwise, I am not sure what to do and can't afford to take the machine to a repair show. Thank you.

That fuse will work no problem. There is no harm in trying it.The machine probably requires about 2 amps or less under normal operation. Being a 3.0 amp slow blow fuse, it will withstand short bursts of extra current when your machine get ... Vacuums

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum
