Dyson dc07 The rotating brush on the bottom of my vacuum was filled with strings. I removed the brush by undoing all yellow plastic screws from plate. Removed all strings and replaced as best I could and it was hard to get the brush back in and the belt around it. I dont have my manual but it fits so it should be correct....? Right? No, not true, because when I turn it on and try to and vacuum (by lower canister with foot release) it makes that terrible ratching sound). Please help
The loud ratching is a warning to tell you that there is something stopping the roller bar from rotating this is a very common thing lay the machine on the floor front side down take off the bottom plate and just check the belt is in the centre of th ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Smoking belt Hey I have a Eureka 2961 avz bagless vacuum, and if it's on for a few minutes i can smell the belt burning. If the vacuum is left on any longer the belt starts smoking. I took the case off and there was a little debris but not much. Is there a cause and fix or just time to replace the belt?
Belt is slipping because the bearings on the beater brushes, which it turns, are jammed or full of dust. \015\012Alternatively the belt has stretched after being overheated and needs replacing because it now slips. ... Eureka 2961AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum

I'm using (or WAS using) a Eureka ''the boss'' model 8803. The belt broke, no biggie, so I replaced it with a Eureka model U belt, the problem is when I put the new belt on and turn on the vaccuum, the belt breaks again. I am also having trouble getting the brush roller to fit right when the belt is in place. I can't find any sharp edges that would cut the belt, nor can I find where any small bits may have broken. Anyone have a solution for me?
First, make sure you have the right belt, second, i am thinking that you are not lineing the roller up right, it will only fit one way. look at the ends of the roller and the grooves where it slides in, you should be able to see clearly how it goes. ... Vacuums

I changed the belt on my bissell Cleanview revolution 3596 twice and both times the belt burned and starting to smoke. I'm not sure what to do now I have two broken belts what could I be doing wrong?
Sounds like the brush that the belt runs (or is supposed to run) is being kept from turning. If you can get the brush out to clean it and lubricate the ends that go into the holder clips, this should solve the problem.\015\012With the new belts burn ... Bissell CleanView 3596 Bagless Upright Vacuum
I replaced the belt as I have done before on Self-Propelled Vision. When turned on it is very loud and left on too long will smoke and you can smell the belt deteriorating. I do not feel this is a belt issue. There is either something wrong with motor or some kind of friction I am unaware of. How do I check?
The best way to check if the motor is burning or not is to go back into the unit and take the belt off of the motor shaft. If the unit does the same thing and burns or even if the lights flicker when the unit is on, then it is definitely the motor. ... Dirt Devil Vision Turbo W/Bonus Upright Vacuum Vacuum
I am trying to replace my vacuum belt and can not get the roller brush to fit back into the slot after I put the belt back onto one end of the roller brush. Am I reassembling the belt and roller brush the right way?
