How do I change the carbon brushes in a dc07, I have removed the brush units from the motor
It is possible that the commutator of the unit is dirty or scored or even out-of round.  Then, there is the problem of the brush socket being distorted or dirty.  Inspect and remedy if possible.\015\012
\015\012To clean the commutator:  Disassemble the unit to the point where you can get the rotating assembly out.  Make careful note of all washers and spacers removed.  If two metal parts meet, scribe a line on them so that they can be realigned properly. \015\012
\015\012Using fine sandpaper (100 or higher), hold the commutator in a circle may with your your thumb and forefinger with the abrasive pressing on the copper.  Rotate it and then clean off with a soft, slightly dampened cloth and allow to dry.  \015\012
\015\012Reassemble.  If you still have a problem, get professional service.

I'm trying to figure out which dyson vacuum is better, the DC14 or DC17. from what i read, the DC17 is the newer model of the DC14, the DC17 added an extra motor for the brush, but from the dyson site, the DC17 has less suction power. it went from 250AW (dc14) to 220AW (dc17). is that a significant difference that i should be worried about?

Hi,DC17 is much better than DC14. I always believe User's review are much better than what Features Company usually Displays.Read :-http://www.epinions.com/review/Dyson_DC17_Animal_Vacuum/content_404790546052 ... Vacuums
