Having problems with your Dyson DC08 Cylinder Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum ?
Connecting motor part
\015 I have a DC-08 dyson animal hoover and I'm replacing the motor but do not know which wire to connect to corresponding wires. there is a black and red wire on the motor part and a brown and blue wire connected to the on/off button. Thanks for the help..[email protected]\015
Hi Charlotte, \015\012Yes, colour coding of wires is a nightmare, isn't it!?\015\012Red and brown both signify "live", and blue and black both signify "neutral". So you should connect brown to red, and black to blue.\015\012I hope this is helpful. If you need more guidance, please post here again and I'll see what more I can do for you.\015\012I value your feedback, so please remember to rate my response.\015\012Good luck!

We have inherited a Filter Queen Majestic Triple Crown Model 99C vaccum and have no owners manual stating the year it was purchased and parts available. Our power hose electic wire connection (about 6 inches long) which plugs into the main unit is split in the hose attachment end. The motor in my Powermate (Kenmore Canister 116.27614700) is whining, high pitched, but still works. A local shop told me the motor is dying (the one in the Powermate that drives the beater bar) and would cost $150 for them to repair. The machine is only 1.5 years old and I paid $300...yikes. I think I can fix it but don't understand why the foam gasket that apparently wraps around the motor costs as much as the motor. I was trying to repair my wife's kitchenaid mixer and took part of it apart, including the back part, where the electrical connections are. The original problem was the plastic gear was damaged -- I finally had the good sense to find the solution for that problem on the internet and replaced the damaged part. But now the mixer just won't turn on. I don't think I damaged anything in the electrical section, but I suspect I either blew a fuse or somehow disconnected something.

Not exactly a blow gun. Convertible blower/vac - Sears Craftsman. Wire broke off ONE brush in the motor. Paid about $90 for the vac - Sears lists the WHOLE motor as one part - $88. Have requested brushes (they are provided with a lot of my 'cheap' Harbor Freight tools) but no go. Just get the canned reply - buy the whole motor. Actually got it working again... CAREFULLY drilled and tapped a 4-40 screw into the brush and soldered the lead to that... Always a way, isn't there?
Motor is sparking and smells like burning rubber. When it first happened I thought the vacuum had something jamming the beater bar. That was the smell it had, like when the belt gets burned. But when we turned it over, it wasn't jamming. Took off the base plate and turned it on. The motor area is sparking and it makes a weird noise (I assume that is because the motor fails and restarts). I looked for loose wires, can't find any. I believe I need some sort of part replaced, maybe even a n
