Having problems with your Dyson DC08 Cylinder Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum ?

My dyson dc08 has a loss of suction. A flap valve operates within a few seconds of startup which appears to divert air. I have replaced both the hepa and sponge filters but the problem persists. If there is another blockage where might it be? I cant see how to dismantle the airways to check more than the very obvious. Suggestions gratefully accepted.

You have used your Dyson too long without thorough cleaning - Here's how.

Obtain a torx screwdriver, or a set of torx bits, you will need to select the correct size when you come to remove the screws. They are all the same, so you will need only one.

Take the radix catridge off the machine as if to empty the clear plastic sucking container. (From here on your hands get dirty).

Firmly pull out the inner conical funnel. Here it is removed. (Note I am showing photos of the cleaned device).
_182.jpg

Next remove the three torx screws. You can see the recesses these are hiding in in the above picture they are the holes without nozzles. The screws are self tappers screwed into plastic, and are easy to undo.

Remove the lower part of the housing and its rubber sealing ring.
_183.jpg
Note the orientation for when you put it back together. The above photo shows the lower bell housing opened away from the top part as if opening a door. It's pretty hard to put them together incorrectly so don't worry too much.

You now need to remove two further screws which are recessed into the sides of the inside of the housing. Their positions are easy to find as they are the only recesses large enough, and match up with two curves on the outside of the housing. They are at the left and right in this picture.

_184.jpg

Next you need to remove the handle at the top of the radix housing that you normally use to pick up the device.

_185.jpg
Remove the two screws deep in the tubular holes you can see at the right of this picture.

Then slightly lift the end of the handle at the end where you removed the screws.

Next use a screw driver to push the other end of the handle off the housing away from the end where you just removed the screws.

_186.jpg
This picture shows the handle pushed out (or ready to be re-attached)

Finally remove the screw revealed by removal of the handle.

You can now lift off the top housing revealing the wormy looking cyclone device This is where most of the **** builds up.. Lift this off and clean everything out thoroughly with water.

Make sure everything is clean and dry!!!!

Re-assemble in reverse order.

_188.jpg

Now your Dysin is restored to original sucking power.

Hello, could you help please. I have a Bissel ProHeat 9400-M. The water remains in the bladder when the machine is on, in other words nothing happens and I cannot clean with it. Inside the tank the small flap is in the open position. I have always used your products although I did run the Bissell over an area that had been cleaned with another product. Could that have caused the problem by blocking it somewhere? I have cleaned everything and cannot see a blockage. Thank you for your help.

Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be

I fear the motor has failed on my Electrolux Oxygen EL6988D. Just six months after the warranty expired, I was vacuuming when it suddenly stopped. There was no blockage in the tube and it wasn't working hard or long . . . it just stopped. I looked around the Internet and it appeared that many similar Electrolux units have a fuse. I hoped my problem might just be a blown fuse, so I took the machine apart. There are two small printed circuit boards, but no fuse. There is an in-line

Hi,\015\012\015\012I don't think you need a new motor, but please stop testing the machine with live power. It's dangerous and unnecessary. My vacuum just stopped working, so I don't know what the problem is. I used it in the kitchen to vacuum the hard wood floor. I turned it off, and a few minutes later, turned it back on to finish vaccuuming the kitchen floor. It just would not turn on. I had not unplugged it or did anything to it. I then tried to see if it would work in another plug, and no luck. I'm trying to figure out if it can be fixed or if I need to look for a new vacuum.

I posted my problem earlier today that I was having with my Bissell Little Green Machine not dispensing solution, but sucked up no problem. Someone said that the most common problem was a blockage. We put hot water in the reservoir for 15 minutes as advised and it still will not dispense. The fluid is now ''dribbling''so it is better. It is just not spraying. We are able to blow from the end and make bubbles in the reservoir which shows us it is not blocked. Any other suggestions?

Lately we've been having plumbing problems to where our washing machine floods up our bath tub and toilet. And it happens while we have the washing machine on of course. Another problem is that whenever we are taking a shower our tub starts to clog up and water starts pouring out from the bottom of our toilet. We had a plumber come by to root out our pipes just last week and it was fine for about 3 days. And now the problem is back and driving me crazy. WHAT IS WRONG AND HOW CAN I FIX IT??

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums
