I managed to take the cyclone apart. here is some help with what i did I hope this helps. You will need a philips and torx screw drivers. Especially torx with T - handles and thin shaft makes the task much faster and easier.
\015\0121. first undo the screws holding the top handle.
\015\0122. lift that part of the handle and pull towards the other end of the handle at the same time. Care this is a tricky manoeuvre but the other end is just sloted in. sometimes may be glued so some force may be needed. see photo 1
\015\01259cbdbc.jpg\015\012
\015\0123 Once the handle is off. there will be screw under the end that you pulled off. undo that screw. see photo 57bd18a.jpg\015\012
\015\012
\015\012
\015\012
\015\0124. Now turn the cyclone upside down. Pull the cone off. this is only a push fit and should pull off
\015\012
\015\0125. Now you should be able to see the three torx screws holes as indicated in the photo.38c6322.jpg\015\012
\015\012
\015\0126 The removal of these torx will enable this section to be pulled off exposing one more layer with three further torx screws to be removed as indicated in the next photo7a60cdc.jpg\015\012
\015\0127 Once the final torx screws are removed, turn the cyclone upright and the top bit which held the handle should come off exposing the complex combe structure. see photo 92fa764.jpg\015\012
\015\0128 Then you should be able to lift the combe structure as well see photo 349cdfc.jpg\015\012
\015\012
\015\0129. and final photo of all the part that have come apart d6aa9d9.jpg\015\012
\015\012
\015\01210. Thoroughly was all the parts with water and make ABSOLUTLY sure that the part are dry before putting it altogather again. Your vacuum will be as good as new. mine was. good luck and happy cleaning.
I found this on e-Bay. Pattern (non-Dyson replica) pre-motor filters are only a couple of quid so worth a try!
\015\012
\015\012"A common problem found with the DC08 and DC11 cylinder cleaners is a notable loss of suction that seems to remain despite cleaning the filters. If you have such a machine and have noticed that the performance has dwindled, you might also detect a dull 'pop' approx 1 - 2 seconds after the appliance is started. This is the internal by-pass valve operating which is there to protect the motor from becoming starved of air. Instead of using just the suction air from the vacuum hose, the air is now coming into the machine from around the body. The problem lies within the pre-motor filter yellow casing which, unlike the older Dyson models, has a double low micron membrane which has a tendancy to clog once the micro-dust gets inside. This is great news until you actually want to wash the dirt out. The pores, once clogged are so efficient that even water cannot pass through them. A simple test is to first of all, fill the yellow filter with water (with the blue sponge removed) and hold it up. If the filter is clear, the water will run away, if not, the water will either slowly drip away, or may not even drain away at all. If you also hold the filter up to the light, you will see daylight through it if it is clear, and the extent of the blockage if not. There are only really two things that you can do. Either scrub away with an old toothbrush until you can get the water to run free through the filter, or replace it. Dyson DC08 pre-motor filter."

Poor suction I have a hoover hush s5627 vacuum purchased about 4 years ago from Costco. It's suction power isn't so good anymore. I've checked all the lines & hoses and they're clear and I've changed the bag. I even disconnected the pipe from the vacuum unit and held my hand over the intake. While the machine roars like a jet engine the suction power just ain't like it used to be. What could possibly be the problem?

Poor suction We bought a model home about 11 years ago and it had the Cental M&S Cyclonic Cleaning system. The suction has steadily been weakening. Now it is almost non-existant. I clean the filter bag in the main unit, but how clean does it need to be. Could there be a clog in the wall lines. If yes, how does one unclogg them. Thank you. I liked the system and would hate to just give up on it. Jean

Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ...
