Having problems with your Dyson DC14 All floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

Dc 14 no suction/noise

\015 We are having the same problem as in the topic already started.\015\012\015\012We called Dyson and they called the sound "ratcheting." It sounds like plastic grinding together. No smells. If you lay the vacuum down in the recline position the brush does not spin but the noise is present. Also, if you leave it upright the noise is not there but when you go to recline it into the position you use it in, it starts the "ratcheting" noise.\015

Answers :

\015\012The sound you can hear is the clutch slipping the machine is designed to do this if the brush roller is jammed or foriegn object obstructing brush roller.
\015\012Remove the sole plate by turning the 3 plastic screws to unlock pull off sole plate now look for anything that is stopping brush from easily turning. If nothing obviouse but roller hard to turn by hand remove the brush roller & check the bearings at either end of the roller if they are siezed up A new roller will sort this out.
\015\012If brush roller is turning freely then your problem will be warn out clutch this will need replacing.
\015\012Its A lot to explain so try this site it has clutch removing manual for Dc14. http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
