Dyson dc14 has no suction and burning smell

\015 How do i change belt\015

Answers :

The guide suggest that you change the belt by putting it around the brush, through the plate, and then try to push it around the spindle, which has a space between it and the casing. I spent an hour trying to do this and couldn't get enough purchase to get the belt around the spindle. Instead I put it around the spindle first, and then through the plate, and then through a screwdriver to hold it in place. I then got the brush and put the band over the brush, rotating it until it went into the groove. I then reassembled. It worked, and I now realise how powerful that brush is. Hope it works.
You cannot change the belt you must change the whole clutch assembly. If you can get the part I will walk you through it over chat.

When my dyson dc14 hoover is on it has a strange burning smell, and a noise like air popping, there seems to be suction from beater and it spins. and definitley suction from extension. Filters are clear and no blockages. Is it the belt I don't think it is. or motor ? Grateful for any advice.

It could be the belt. However, the popping sound does have me puzzled. The popping could be coming from a partially broken belt slapping against plastic.Jim ... Vacuums

I'm trying to figure out which dyson vacuum is better, the DC14 or DC17. from what i read, the DC17 is the newer model of the DC14, the DC17 added an extra motor for the brush, but from the dyson site, the DC17 has less suction power. it went from 250AW (dc14) to 220AW (dc17). is that a significant difference that i should be worried about?

Hi,DC17 is much better than DC14. I always believe User's review are much better than what Features Company usually Displays.Read :-http://www.epinions.com/review/Dyson_DC17_Animal_Vacuum/content_404790546052 ... Vacuums

BURNING SMELL My DC 07 has suffered from poor suction in the upright position for some time now but this morning it ground to a halt. It was if the motor had burned out. I turned it upside down and some small stones etc tumbled out. I tried switching on again and the motor kicked in but the smell was horrendous so i switched off immediately. If it's likely to be **** inside the motor area i don't no how to access it. I've removed for fixing screws but still unable to prise apart. Is it just the

I had used Dyson DC08 to **** out a wet car carpet. A few days later when using the V/C, there was a burning smell. Subsequently I washed the flexible hose, changed the pre-filter and post filter , but I wrongly put the pre-filter in the spot for the post filter. When the V/C was next used, there was again a burning smell and sparks. The filters were switched, but the V/C would not re-start. What shall I do?

No suction My Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum runs but there is no suction. The last two or three times I used it, it shut itself off after having a burning smell. When I unplug it for the suggested 30 minutes, the motor will run again but no suction. What is wrong?? Should I just buy a nve one? This one is 8 years old.

Sounds like your motor bearings are going bad. This is generally indicated by the motor overheating, and the heat transferring out through the motor pulley, which is where the belt attaches. So, your machine is overheating, melting the belt, and then ... Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum

My eureka vacuum won't suction and starts to smoke when I try to use it. It sounds like it is suctioning when I first turn it on, but after about 20 seconds it begins to smell like burning and does not suction at all. I have tried cleaning and unclogging the filter and everything. It's bagless so I don't need a new bag.

The problem is that your belt is stretched and worn. This causes that burning smell and it also causes the vacuum to not pick up well. You need to replace the belt. Here is the belt you need and the manual with instructions: ... Eureka Altima Upright Vacuum Model 2996AVS Vacuum

My Dyson DC14 Animal doesn't have the suction it used to. The piece in the back on the bottom - a flap it appears - stays open now, causing the machine to make a louder noise than usual. At first, if I put my hand on the flap opening it would close, allowing for normal suction. Now, it stays "open" permanently", causing the loss of suction.
