Clutch went bad after only 2 years

\015 I purchased by Dyson in 2007 and after only 2 years the clutch went out and I was told this is a common problem for the Dyson products. The other bad thing is it's going to cost approximately $200 to fix it. If I can only get 2 years out of a $500 vacuum then I will gladly pay for bags for a vacuum that lasts longer. I'm very uphappy with the Dyson.\015

I have a dyson dc07 with a malfuncitoning clutch diagnosed here on fixya. I've replaced the clutch and the grinding noise when the clutch is engaged for carpet and non rotating brush problem presists. This is after replacement of the clutch with a new part. Install of the new part went well and there are no otehr apparent problems with the unit. Ideas? The unit is only a couple years old and not used that much on carpet. For an expensive vacuum I'm not that impressed with it at this point.

Panasonic NN-SD776S microwave Start button stopped working. I know, the first thought is a bad door switch because "everyone knows a microwave should not turn on if the door is open." The motor just went out on my 2 year old vacuum with light usage (hardwood floors in a very small house.) The Sears repairpeople are estimating ~ $130 to fix (this includes parts & labor). I'm wondering if it's worth investing $130 into something i've spent $350 on only 2 years ago. Shouldn't these machines last longer ? Is there something I could do to get them repair free as it seems the motor must have been faulty to only have lasted 2 years. Thoughts ?

I have a 2 fluorescent light fixture in my bathroom. The right side light quit working. I took the starter out of the left side and put it in the right and it worked. Starter, right?
