Dyson dc 14 won't stand up straight - how to fix

Answers :

\015\012This is very easy to fix. Assuming nothing has broken off the vacuum, this is simply due to the pivoting elbow on the back of the hoover getting stuck under the latch. It should hook over it.
\015\012To fix this problem, please follow these instructions. Please note, these pictures are from a slightly different model, but the process is identical.
\015\0121. Switch the power off and unplug the vacuum
\015\0122. Recline the vacuum all the way down and lie it on it's left side (left when standing behind it)
\015\0123. This is how your catch will look at the moment (circled in red)
\015\012Gradually raise the back of the Dyson towards the upright position. As you near the fully upright position lift the spring loaded elbow up:
\015\0124. Finish raising the back of the hoover and make sure the elbow hooks over the catch:
\015\012This is how it should look when it's done correctly:
\015\0125. Stand the Dyson on it's base again and make sure it will stand up on it's own.
\015\012If it still wont stand up, make sure it looks like the final image above. If not, repeat the above steps. If it's not possible to hook the elbow over the catch or it repeatedly gets stuck underneath and wont stand up on its own, then it probably needs to be repaired.
\015\012Hope this helps. If you have followed the instructions above and still can't get your Dyson to stand up, please post back for further assistance.
