I have a Hayden SuperVac 3600, almost 10 years old. The unit still runs, but now when I switch to the power nozzle, it doesn't have power to turn that. I think this happened once before and maybe they replaced a circuit board(?). We took it to a local repairman this time and he says he can fix it temporarily with a new cartridge, but that he won't promise it won't happen again soon.....

The hose has fuseable link inside, generally a 3-7 amp. It is at the wall end underneath the hose cuff. Easy to replace as it crimps in line. If you have a meter you can also test the detachable hose to wall cord for continuity, then check the hose t ... Hayden Industries SuperVac 6000 Central System Vacuum

Its for a central vac system. I have very low suction power. I've emptied the dirt trap. It seems the fan is working ok, so I guess theres a clog somewhere but I have no idea how to find and fix it. I have no manual on the unit as it was in the house when we bought it. I'd guess its same age as house (19 years old). Any advice would be graetly appreciated!

Usually, low suction would indicate access ports allowing air to enter the system. Easy to test system however. Test vacuum first. Remove intake hose to vacuum ( at the vacuum canister ) and place your hand over intake. You should feel considerab ... Vacuums

Faithful Sebo X1 upright, about 12 years old, stopped working today. I replaced old with new dust bag, checked all dust paths were clear, checked main brush was clear/clean, and drive spindle rotated OK with fingers. When power switched on, the two red indicators briefly flash on then off, but nothing more happens, motor does not start - even with power reaching machine. Tried removing all consumables, refitting and turning on a few times to reset, no joy. Removed base cover, both belts were i

At 12 years, this vacuum has had a good long life. I suspect the motor is shot, but it could be due to faulty wiring and connections. A bad switch, break in the power cord, and worn brushes in the motor are other causes.\015\012I recommend ta ... Sebo Automatic X1 Bagged Upright Vacuum

Our Miele vacuum is only 2/3 years old and seems to have given up the gost, our previous one lasted 15 yrs. The machine starts ok and within 4/5 minutes the power drops down and the hoover comes to a stop and it may re-power itself again within minutes, as of today their is no power when the on button is pressed. What do you think the problem is Thank you.

No power. I was getting intermittent power with my miele s558 midsize canister, but it was predicated with me fiddling with the retractable cord to get it to come on and then not move the canister while I was vacuuming. Now I can get no power. I have taken it apart and can see no issues with connectors, cord, casings, etc. It all looks fine. It is about 5 years old and I have had no problems with it.

Motor/Fan does not run. I have removed and taken the top of the canister plastic motor housing apart and tested for power. I have power through the cord to the switch and power from the switch to the two wire terminals. I have not removed the motor. Looks like I will need special tools to take out the motor. The Vac looks almost new. It has been setting for several years. What do you think?

The motor just went out on my 2 year old vacuum with light usage (hardwood floors in a very small house.) The Sears repairpeople are estimating ~ $130 to fix (this includes parts & labor). I'm wondering if it's worth investing $130 into something i've spent $350 on only 2 years ago. Shouldn't these machines last longer ? Is there something I could do to get them repair free as it seems the motor must have been faulty to only have lasted 2 years. Thoughts ?

The battery will not charge in the sweeper. I can remove the battery and wire it to the power supply for charging and it will charge up and run the sweeper. So the power supply and the battery are both good. Obviously there is a circuit failure in the on board charging control. Anyone know a fix or a likely faulty component? We bought our Kirby less than 5 years ago and lately are not happy with it....it keeps breaking. The warranty has expired and our biggest complaint is that it has lost it's suction power. All the contents stay in the hose when I vacuum out the car or upholstery and it does vacuum well at all. The Kirby store quoted us over $200 to fix/ service it. Apparently this is not covered in the free yearly maintenance which we just had done. Any suggestions?

I'm not really a technician, but I used to sell Filter Queens and was taught how to maintain them, and have tackled "fixing" some problems. I am a 71 year old great-grandmother of 8, but have good health and am very active. The Filter Queen I have is r, usedeally old, and I have kept it up. Lately, my Kirby Ultimate G has been acting funny. When I push it forward, it's fine, but when I pull it backward on the carpet, the light on the front flickers and the power flutters off an on. I thought it might be the rollers, so tonight I turned the machine over and pulled out the hair that was wrapped around the roller. However, that did not fix the problem. I should probably backtrack a little bit. In the past, I have had problems with the vacuum running over its own power cord.

The cord will need to be replaced with a cord made for the machine, as it has a non-standard plug. The cord cover is held in place with a # 20 Torx screw. Remove the screw and push the cover gently from behind to unlatch it. The handle must also be r ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hi There I have got a Kirby 2 HG vaccum cleaner which is around 20 years old now. It was going really well until last week when one of the capacitors which are connected to the brushes blew up. There is two capacitors one for each brush. One of them completely blew to bits and the other one is still intact. My question is are they the same size and where do I get a new one from. I know it is an old machine, but I would like to fix it and get it going again. Any tips???

My first proheat lasted four years so I bought a new one. After I used my Pro Heat for only the fourth time my first issue occured, the gear on the pump that runs the brushes came off, so I had the one from my old proheat, I just changed the gear spindle that is screwed to the pump and fixed that problem but now it will not pump water. That is why I bought a new proheat, I could not get the old one to pump even after a new pump and made sure all lines were not cloged.

Rainbow Vacuum, about 5 yrs old (bought new, no issues prior) - my 6yr old tipped it on it's side while water was in basin. The suction still works and basin still catches dirt - the noise is just so loud and I'm not sure if I should continue use or how to fix -?
