Having problems with your Dyson DC15 All Floors - The Ball Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

Is the Dyson pulling carpet fibers, not dirt ?

\015 I have a new Dyson and when I vacuum some of my tribal wool carpets the brush seems to be pulling tiny bits of the carpet fibers into the machine. I don't see any way of adjusting the rollers and wondering if it is actually taking the fibers out of my wool carpets? Am I destroying the carpet?\015

Answers :

All vacs with revolving brushs will damage rugs, especially rugs made from natural fibers. I recommend that you only use a smooth bottom nozzle with no brush at all. To remove gritty damaging soil vacuum the back with your Dyson or other revolving brush vac over a hard surface floor. Make sure to stay away from the edges and fringes. You will be VERY impressed with what comes out this way and it is easy on the rug.

You need to shut the brush roll off. It is ruining your rugs, the dyson has a very aggressive roller and can hurt some types of rugs and carpets.

I have an animal dyson. The front nose dives into the carpet when moving the dyson in the forward motion, fine when pulling back. A huge amount of effort is required to move it forward. Took it to a technician and he said he could find nothing wrong. He had only short nap carpet for test. Works fine on short nap, if the carpet nap has any lenght to it like shag, the dyson severly nose dives. It's like the nose is sucked into the carpet. When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums

The beater bar on my Dyson won't turn. The vacuum runs and suctions but the bar won't turn and the belt is not broke. The beater bar did get a carpet fiber caught and wrapped around it which stopped the bar and I removed the bar to cut the fiber loose and replaced it and now it won't turn

Poor Suction Heya! So I just picked up a used Dyson, but when I vacuum with it, the suction is pretty weak and it spits all kinds of stuff out the back and into my feet. When I pull the hose I have good suction, but in regular mode it hardly picks up anything. The brushes are spinning, and it eventually will clean an area if I go over it again and again. Maybe a clog somewhere? Please tell me that Dysons have better suction than my $50 Dirt Devil! Thanks!

My Bissell Pro Heat Select 2X does not pull up the dirt from the carpet into the water. The water just slowly disappears. The first time I used it the water got really dirty. My dyson animal is hard to push on carpet - the beater bar is still operational. When I turn off the beater bar and run the vacuum on hardwood the beater bar stops moving, but it still ''rolls'' on the hardwood - it doesn't pull up like it used to. I have a Dyson all-floor model (not the ball). I recently replaced my carpet to a Frieze. Since replacing the carpet, the Dyson is extremely hard to push. It almost forms a "seal" with the carpet. Seems to work fine on Berber carpet and laminate floor. My husband has checked to make sure the brushes are working, hoses are not clogged and belts are OK. I've had it for about a year.
