I sucked up a sock into the carpet attachment of my electrolux 3500 series and the carpet attachment cut off. After the sock was easily removed (it was only wrapped around the brush part) I reattached the carpet attachment, turned the vacuum on and flipped the switch to turn the carpet attachment back on, but it won't come back on. How can I fix it?

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums

Hi,My agitator brush won't run on my hoover S3590, I changed the belt, that didn't work. I don't see a possible cause in my book except replacing the belt. I think there could be a short, the brush will come on sometimes when pulling back and slightly lifting. Any ideas would be great and can I fix it myself? Thank you for any help, Bobbie

Hi Bobbie\015\012Take apart the electro floor head if you can and inspect inside - it may well be that there's clogged dust preventing the brush from turning and also check both sides of the actual beater bar as thread and tangled hair can often lead ... Hoover S3590 Bagged Canister Vacuum

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

My Dyson DC24 sucked in a backpack strap and tripped. I then decided to pull out the brush and clean off whatever else happened to be clung onto it and put it back in. The darn thing doesn't turn anymore. Everyone says to push the reset button in until a click is heard but I put in a bit of force and I haven't heard a click so I stopped because I didn't want to break it. Is there something I haven't checked or do I keep adding force?

My electrolux oxygen canister cuts on and off. I have to open and close the vacuum, or take the base of the hose off and then re-insert. I have to do all these things before it will start up again.
