Having problems with your Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not. My vacuum is approx. 5 years old.

I have vax 1800 pet vacuum. It is picking up fine but very noisy. I have replaced the belt in the past and the noise started then. On looking at it closely today I noticed brushbar was getting worn where it slots in at the side so I suspect it wasn't fitted in properly after replacing the belt. Now in properly but still making terrible noise. There is a bit of a rubbing noise when brushbar moved round. Do you think the brushbar needs replaced? How do I lubricate the bearings to try that bef

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested.\015\012Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40. ... Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. Turned it back on and was working fine. About a minute later the vacuum was making an odd noise. Every 2 seconds or so it would "heave" (lack of a better word) then go away, then come back and so on. Turned the vacuum off and checked for blockage, none that could be seen or felt, and now the vacuum won't turn. Any suggestio

We have the Kenmore progressive direct drive (bagless) and have had it for about 3 years. We have taken good care of it, and paid quite a bit for it hoping that it would last for a good long time. It has started making a noise that seems to be an overflow air type of noise coming out of a bottom air outlet opening for when the air flow is blocked. We have looked into clogs, changed filters, and the whole works, to no avail! Quite Frustrating since I love this purple vacuum! The machine started
