My Dyson DC25 animal is having issues. I believe everything is working correctly except I have realized that the mechanism which switches the hose/valve between the wand and the vacuum head isn't working properly. The two gear pieces that move the hose placement aren't close enough together, so they don't work together. It looks like there is a washer that I could potentially remove on the clear gear piece which would allow it to sit closer to the assembly. Would that work? Currently I am

I have a Dyson 17, the Absolute Brand special for pet hair. I think I have a blockage in the hose. Symptoms are: spewing out fuzz balls and small particles. I have checked all the blockage sites recommended by Dyson and all are clear except a small flexible transparent hose, 6 or 7 inches long, curled up underneath the cleaner head/brush bar unit. Any ideas? I've tried to pull out the stuff stuck in there, but I'm afraid to perforate the hose and I don't know any way to disconnect it.

Try dropping something like marbles into the hose and shake it up and down, may loosen it up enough to draw through.hope this helps you out. ... Vacuums

I have a cannister (Animal something...) Today, it didn't sound right - like a blockage. I took out the filter - seemed OK; I looked for a blockage - found none. I continued to vacuum, but it wasn't picking up. Then, I stopped again, and I found a blockage (cat toy mouse) right at the end of the hose (attachment end.) I cleared, and I turned back on - nothing. Completely dead. It is one year old, just about exactly. Desperate, Sharon Tracy

Hello,if your canister is completely dead, then it means its having a power problem. You need to focus your attention on that part of your canister that relates to power. Such as; power wire, if you don see any fault with the power cord, ... Dyson Vacuums

I have cleaned out all areas etc pipes, the brush underneath and cant find any blockages. The noise of the dyson is the same as usual. Could you tell me if there is a part that it sounds like it needs?

I need to change out the short hose on the underside of my older Dyson DC 07 Animal (Light Purple). It is the one less than a foot long on the underside which is attached on one end to the main body of the vacuum(I was able to remove this one) and the top of the upper soleplate. The latter one seems to be glued or otherwise permanently attached.Any assistance you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

Dyson animal loses suction when I let the handle down from the upright position to use, I've cleaned the foam filter, and the plastic filter holder and dried thoroughly, removed and cleared the right side U-bend, and the center, rear U-bend access, also made sure nothing was in the way of the beater bar. Any thoughts? thanks. lorri

Is the noise a loud screaming or a grinding/vibration? The screaming is an air flow problem and you'll want to check your hoses are clear and all the seals are tight. I have a Model 116.35922500 Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner. It makes a loud air noise when using the vacuum. I have disconnected and removed the hose to see if anything is lodged in the hose and it appears clear. It makes the noise when the hose is connected. When I remove it, the noise stops. When I place my hand over the hose, the nose re appears. I sounds as though the noise is coming from the fan or internal parts of the machine. My vac has lost suction. When I vacuum it picks up very little, but when I remove the wand hose it has good suction. We have cleaned both filters, checked for blockage in all hoses & cleaned the beater bar brush. All to no avail. Is it the motor? Or is there a blockage deep in the vac somewhere? I have a DC07 and the brush wasn't rotating and I had no suction at the brush but perfect suction through the hose. I noticed a large build up of dog hair around the brush so I took off the cover plate and removed all the hair, cleaned inside the floor/brush housing and cleaned out the hose. I also cleaned the filter and removed the other air access cover and made sure that they were clear. I put everything back and the brush still doesn't turn and there is still no suction through the bottom

I have a dyson dc21. All the sudden the hose is hardly suctioning up anything. If I take the canaster off, the top air hole suctions extrememly well, but when I place that canister back on, the suction is not going thru the hose and picking anything up. I have squeezed the hose, I feel no air leaking and do not feel any blockages...what could be wrong. It worked fine the other day and today, it won't pick up a piece of lint!
