Wont re-assemble I took the bottom plate off to clean out the rotary bush and can not get the plate back on! I think it is the position of the roller but no matter which way I place it when i turn it , it flicks back into the place that means i cant put the plate back on!

Assuming you did not remove the brush roller to clean it and consequently did not reseat it, I am guessing that the bottom plate is not reinstalling as it should. Clogged hose A makeup brush (about 3.5 inches long) was sucked up through the vacuum hose. It won't come back through the same way it came in because the bristles in the brush are expanded. We can see the brush on the side of the hose that connects to the canister but can't get it around the bend of the 360 part of the hose... is there any way to take the hose apart more?

Broken hose The hose on my Hoover F5837-900 Steam vac Supreme broke away from the coupler on the bottom of the unit - under/behind the recovery tank (solution tube is till attached). It might have gotten pinched in there a couple times. Problem - it was glued in the coupler really well, and I cannot get the whole thing out - hose will be too short anyway - is there a way to fix this or a part I can order instead??

ShopVac pump The waterhose connection is up high. The only way to get the water up to the level of the hose is to continually hold down the on button due to the automatic shut off after it fills to a certain level. On the bottom of the filter there is a hole. I am thinking there should be a small hose of some sort to put into that hole that would then lead up to the level of the water hose. Concept makes sense to me. But in the meantime, good old duct tape seems to have done the trick. Not exact

I also have a Hoover upright and I need to replace the electrical cord. I have dimantled the back, where the tools are stored, and the hose. I still cannot find the screws or whatever, to get to the area behind the cord, so I can replace it. I think I will have to take off the bottom too. Has anyone out there tried to do this? It seems crazy. This machine works great so I hope I can also put it back together. Thanks for the help.

Since I do not know your specific model I can only supply you with general instructions. Be aware that most of the time you only need to gain access to the on/off switch to replace the power cord. Also Make sure that you are replacing the existing co ... Vacuums

The brush wouldn't work when the selector switch was in carpet mode. Took the power head apart and removed the motor. Everything o.k. in the power head. Checked and found that the neutural wire had pulled out of the connector, the connector was never crimped at the factory. What a day! Took 2 hours and a large pizza to get it done. Neutral wire was in the hose just below the handle. Reconnected the wire and crimped it, put everything back together. It works!!!!

I have an older model F6056-900 Hoover steamvac Spin Scrub Cleaner. My first problem was that I loaned it out to a friend. Anyway she ran over the hose (used for attachments) with her car. We have a series e rainbow cleaner. my wife had been using it i turned off and turned the canister up sie down to get the serial number. it would not turn back on.we need a new hose and thats why i was looking for the serial num. it has a rocker switch and the motor will work on low but will not run on the suction side. i have checked the wiring harnesses out as best i could without taken it all apart. im wondering if it may be the switch. it started once and then stopped.

There is one way to verify if it is the switch. It's kind of dangerous though, but not too bad.You need an extra piece of wire, fairly thick.I would use 4 guage myself.Hold it with pliers, just in case it gets hot.Turn the switch on and hold the wire to ... Rainbow Vacuums

I am getting very little suction from the motor. The hose is clear, the bag new. When I open the bag cover, plug the hose in and turn the vacuum on, there is next to no suction from the motor. What do you think is wrong? How do I remove the cord retractor to get to the two screws that hold the back of the canopy cover?

Your problem is probably is you don't have a proper seal in your chasis. A vacuum has to be sealed tight or the air will leak out and the seal broken. Check around the whole body after the bag is in and check for any airflow noise. I could help more ... Vacuums
