The gear that turns the dual brushes on my Bissell Spot Lifter 1716 seems to be stripped. Hoover windtunnel t series belt is loose- roller brush doesnt turn. Its brand new belt is slipping. we bough new belts and putthem on same problem. Can not find solutio in manual. Is the belt supposed to go around the "metal pulley". I know it goes around the little metal motor thing, then thru the guide and around the brush. What is the metal pulley??? Roomba My Scheduler started making a "grinding" noise every now and then until one day it just started grinding and then stopped (I could restart the unit, however it repeated the grinding and stopping). Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. In the process of breaking, it bent the metal guide inside the motor housing and melted the plastic that holds the guide and keeps the belt inline with the roller. Bissell proheat 2x 9200 series carpet cleaner. I need to remove the Brush Drive motor. However, this series has the gear end of the motor shaft poking out a hole on the left hand side. I removed the retaining washer and pin from the gear shaft. I need to get the gear off of the shaft in order to remove the motor. It's not budging. As you turn the Sebo on, the 2 red lights flash once and there is no motor. If you rotate the brush roller the motor starts. We've taken off the brush roller and put it back on and now it doesn't even start when you rotate the roller.

Bad Motor I have purchased two of the Kenmore direct drive beltless systems with Progressive systems. The first died after a year, the vacuum motor start making a grinding noies. My bissell 6590 works fine with hose attachment. Motor shaft turns when belt and roller are off. When belt and roller are on it's noisy and smelly. Now one end of the roller actually melted in the holding slot. Do these rollers wear out like this or should I be looking for another problem.

I was just using my Bosch 1450W bagged vacuum and all of a sudden, the motor just shut down. No warning, no problems. The light still turns on, but the motor is unresponsive. There is a clean bag and filter, and nothing caught in the front roller. The motor sounded fine - no shaking, or weird frequency variations.
