Same here... I have a DC-15 Animal, it was making a clogged type noise and before I had time to react, it stopped working and I smelled burning rubber. I also noticed that the ball was really hot. It's too late to call support, but I intend on doing so in the morning. I've only had my Dyson for a year, so I'm sure it's covered, however, I have no idea where my receipt is. My purple Dyson Animal (without the ball) isn't working correctly. When I turn it on, the red power light, as well as the medium pile buttons flashes. When I first turn it on, the brush rotates for 3 to 5 seconds, then once I start moving the vacuum, it stops and that's when the lights start flashing. I've checked the filters, they are dry and installed correctly. What could be the problem?

My Dyson DC25 animal is having issues. I believe everything is working correctly except I have realized that the mechanism which switches the hose/valve between the wand and the vacuum head isn't working properly. I have an animal dyson. The front nose dives into the carpet when moving the dyson in the forward motion, fine when pulling back. A huge amount of effort is required to move it forward. Took it to a technician and he said he could find nothing wrong. He had only short nap carpet for test. Works fine on short nap, if the carpet nap has any lenght to it like shag, the dyson severly nose dives. It's like the nose is sucked into the carpet. In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.
