Belts breaking/melting The original belt broke at almost 1 year so I replaced it. I changed the carpet setting to shag even though my carpet is very low pile to make it easier on the vacuum. I didn't get to use it but just a couple minutes and could already start smelling the new belt getting hot. I checked the roller and it is easy to spin. Not clogged with hair or dirt. I have an Electrolux Commercial Upright vacuum Model U129C. It has a device which turns off the motor driving the beater bar if something gets stuck in it. There is a simple reset button to restart the beater after clearing the obstruction. Just recently on flat dense low pile surfaces the switch cuts in after just a few seconds and turns the beater bar off. This doesn't happen on high pile carpet but the motor doesn't quite sound normal. There is no obstruction - the beater bar can spin freely

The motor is having a problem. There might be two reasons...either the coils inside it got heated up which will be needing rewinding or you can buy a new motor or there r capacitors attached sometimes u can make a check on that also if that's gone Kap ... Vacuums

Folks, My wife and I own a three-year-old Hoover U6434-900 self-propelled "Wind Tunnel" upright vacuum cleaner. The problem is that, even on the highest setting (front-end as high as possible), it gets bogged-down in even shallow pile carpet to the point that the brush stops. I've cleaned the machine thoroughly, pulling hair, thread, dental floss and such from the brush (and everywhere else), including unscrewing the brush end caps and pulling out the cat hair mats which formed in there.

Check to see if the V belt sits too deep in the brushroll groove, if it sits too deep you will need to replace the brushroll. the top of the belt should be about flush with the brushroll. also you have to take the screws out of the self propelled uni ... Vacuums

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner--trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting --is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up --unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum... Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

On our new carpet (which is not that thick but thicker than the old) I can't set the carpet thickness high enough. The suction really grabs the carpet and bogs down my self-propelled wind-tunnel Hoover. I then have to push down on the handle to tilt the front up. The thickness setting is as high as it will go. Is there some way that I can further adjust this. The machine is about eight years old.

Brush Roll belt stops turning durring vacuuming on WindTunnel self-propelled, v belt is a little loose with handle down. Tensioning roll is engaged OK, but fully at the end of its travel. Also turns easily until it engages the carpet. Self propel function works just fine.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don't know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. I have a dyson dc07 with a malfuncitoning clutch diagnosed here on fixya. When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums
