Brushbar housing truning excessively!

\015 Hi, When I'm putting the vacuum back into an upright position, the grey lever that sits in front of the ball & connects into the brush-bar housing keeps rising. If you lift the hoover, the brush-bar housing rotates excessively. It appears that something isn't holding the parts together?\015\012\015\012Thanks for any assistance you can give,\015\012Mark\015

Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate

The hose on the back might be loose - check to see that the hose is not obstructing anything where it screws in at the back - or indeed the screws may be loose themselves; some of the MCE 468 models had an additional ring washer that sits between the ... Panasonic Vacuums

Have Electrolux 1590 whole house vac, and can't see how to get brushes out. Leads so short, and don't want to break them trying to free brushes. Do they slide out of plastic housing? My eyes not real good, but it looks like the leads are part of a brass sleeve that slides into the plastic housing. It also looks like the plastic housing may be a snap lock type, but I don't see how to open it.

On the piece that covers the brushbar and motor (the clear plastic piece that has the dyson logo), it looks like a small plastic ridge that holds the cap for the brushbar snapped off. Would too much wobbling of the brushbar cause it to turn on and off? The switch seems fine.

In theory, yes. If the brushbar isn't held firmly, then the belt isn't running smoothly which puts more strain on the motor. This can cause the motor to get hot very quickly which will trip the thermal overload protection. \015\012\015\01 ... Dyson DC15 All Floors - The Ball Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Vorwerk VK121 vacuum cleaner - smell of burning from housing enclosing motor. How do I get into the housing to inspect the motor? After tilting the bag sideways, there are two screws holding the housing visible, but there seems to be a thrid fixing inside the point where the handle shaft is attached - is the handle simply clipped in place? Thanks

Yes the handle is clipped in place and should come out when the button in front is pushed. Remove the screws you wrote about. After that the puzzle begins. At the bottom of the vacuum where the head is attached, remove the head by pressing the but ... Vacuums

I have vax 1800 pet vacuum. It is picking up fine but very noisy. I have replaced the belt in the past and the noise started then. My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum
