Assuming you did not remove the brush roller to clean it and consequently did not reseat it, I am guessing that the bottom plate is not reinstalling as it should. There is a rubber valve on the top of Dyson DC14 all floors. When the vacum is locked in its upright position or the hand wand is used there is a whistling sound coming out of the valve. When the vac is used as a floor vac, it does not make the sound. Is this something that I can fix? Is there an obstruction somewhere that would be causing this sound? thank you.

My Dyson DC24 sucked in a backpack strap and tripped. I then decided to pull out the brush and clean off whatever else happened to be clung onto it and put it back in. The darn thing doesn't turn anymore. Everyone says to push the reset button in until a click is heard but I put in a bit of force and I haven't heard a click so I stopped because I didn't want to break it. Is there something I haven't checked or do I keep adding force?
