I have a DC07 and the brush wasn't rotating and I had no suction at the brush but perfect suction through the hose. I noticed a large build up of dog hair around the brush so I took off the cover plate and removed all the hair, cleaned inside the floor/brush housing and cleaned out the hose. I also cleaned the filter and removed the other air access cover and made sure that they were clear. I put everything back and the brush still doesn't turn and there is still no suction through the bottom

I have a Panasonic MCV7515 UPRIGHT VACUUM and need to remove the cowling that covers the brushes to clean the hair out of the bearings, but it isn't clear how that can be done without a crowbar or sledgehammer. Removing all the visible screws makes the hindmost part loose, but not the front half. Also, is there an easy way to replace the belt?

The brushes spin very, very slowly and stop altogether sometimes - like they just don't have any power behind them.I've cleaned the brushes and also turned it on without the brushes inside to see if the female plug that the brushes go into turns - it does, but not very fast. My Dyson DC 14 is making the horrible "ratcheting"sound only when the brush is engaged on the carpet setting. I have cleaned the brush, so there are no obstructions, the canister is empty and properly on the unit. I checked to make sure all of the "traps" and hoses are clear of obstructions, the belt is on the brush securely and moves freely, the brush itself spins freely, but there is still the "ratcheting" noise. Any other suggestions?

Our DC33 was making the same ratcheting sound immediately upon placing the cleaner/brush head on the carpet. We carefully pulled the beater/brush bar out of the vacuum. My Windsor Sensor XP12 says the bag is full when it's not. I have removed the hose, brush, and filter and cleaned everything. I can put a bag on without the cover and it works great. However, when I add the bag to the front cover and close the latch the right way, it does not work. I'm thinking that the cover is not seating the bag correctly over the hole, but I can't figure out how to fix it. Any suggestions?

I cleaned out my dyson ball as it smelt when i hoovered, cleaned filters, washed out canister and took the screws out of the front bar so i could clean near the brushes.. now its making a high pitched noise and when i switch it off it makes a noise like an engine shutting down! Have i disturbed the motor?

Hi its Darran at Dyson. The screws on the base of the cleaner head should not have to be removed to access the brush bar so it is possible that the brush bar has come out of alignment, hence the noise the machnie is making. Pl ... Dyson Ball DC24 Bagless Upright Vacuum

Dyson DC 14 hose has no suction, with or without brush attachments. Hot air shoots out from the base of the canister when I try to use the hose. I cleaned the top filter, but can't figure out how to remove the hepa filter to clean it without destroying the case. It looks like it might take three hands to insert pennies and "flip" the case open as is suggested on a youtube video for a different model. Would this even help, assuming I could get the thing open?

In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.
