Dyson cannot be pushed - too much suction

\015 My Dyson DC41 is working great on carpets but i cant even push it on laminate - the suction is so strong. It was ok up to now - what could it be ?\015

I have exactly the same problem and it appears to be a design flaw. The central roller on the baseplate (the plate that's in contact with the floor) disintergrates meaning that the faceplate is complete contact with the floor creating a vacuum. This then makes it almost impossible to use on smooth surfaces. I reported mine to dyson and they sent out a replacement brushhead. However, within three months of fitting the replacement part the same problem has re-occurred. Look like i'll need to call dyson again !!!!
Clean the sole plate of black residue then rub some baby powder on it to make it slide easy..

I've had my Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner now for approximately 9 months and been very happy with my purchase. However, It is used sparingly maybe twice a week at the very most. The problem is when I try to use the item on my carpet, you have to push really hard to get it to move. It's as though the suction power is far to strong. It certainly doesn't glide as I think it should. It still picks up as usual but I cannot imagine that having to 'force' the machine to move is the normal operating procedu

My Dyson DC17 has lost suction on the wand and is not picking up dirt as it should. I have taken the small part at bottom of the machine off to see if there is a blockage--none that I can see. The flexible tube on wand is very tight and won't extend very much. Dyson sent me a new cyclonic part in April but the machine still doesn't seem to be working properly. My serial number is 260-us-d11545. Is there somewhere I can take my Dyson to get it fixed. I'm very frustrated with it. Thank you.

I can't get the latch that connects to the brush head to engage. Thus the vacumn is extremely hard to push. It has suction, extreme suction. Rollers appear to be dragging. I've tried to remove and reinstall the head several times but cannot seem to get the latch to engage. Please advise.

My Dyson DC07 has recently been service and was making a clattering noise and very hard to push. We have taken it back and he has changed the clutch mechanism under the base which has solved the clattering, but it is still really hard to push because of the suction. It is even lifting the carpet in one room. Can you tell me what the possible reasons for this could be? One thought we had was that the little rubber wheels on the bottom cover could have worn so the hoover is closer to the floor

On the sole plate you should have 5 little wheels, these are prone to jamming after a while. You should make sure these are not jammed in anyway.\012\012You can release these with a screwdriver, but be careful not to prize too hard as you ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a
