How to open the cyclone part of the DC50 to check it it's clogged?

Please do not attempt to dismantle DC50's cyclone pack, as this is likely to cause damage not covered by the machine's 5-year guarantee. It's very unlikely there would be a blockage within the cyclone pack as it's protected by a fine mesh shroud which prevents pet hair and other debris from getting into the cyclones.

If your machine isn't picking up as well as it should be, you may need to give the filters a wash, as shown in the video attached. This should be done at least once a month using cold water without detergent. Always allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

The hose works great, but the head of the vaccuum does not pick up anything !!! I checked every opening that may have been clogged, but nothing came up. My Hoover Whisper Cyclonic is collecting the dirt but not taking it into the cylinder. Suction I too have the same problem as Mr. Chief. I followed your advice and checked all the hose attachments, no clog. Tthe only one hose that the broom handle would not pass through was the plastic hose and there is a curve in that part. I did not want to force the broom in there as this is a new vacuum and is probably under warranty.
