Having problems with your Electrolux Cs 3000 Central System Vacuum ?

Central vac system is 18 years old. Recently started to shut down during vacuuming. Motor may be over heating. Electrolux has been out and is pushing a new system but not sure if it is necessary.

Answers :

The motor can be replaced for a lot less than the cost of a new machine. A new motor comes with a one year warranty if installed by the service tech. A new CV unit alone may be over three times as much, but does have a five year warranty.
\015\012At 18 years, there are other things that could be getting worn out as well. If you happen to need to replace them over the next year or two, then you would have been better off getting a new machine. Just the motor and hose can be over $600. Add the power module, power nozzle or parts, and wands, and the costs can end up being over $1000. So take a look at the hose and accessories. If they show a lot of wear and tear, then it might be better to replace the whole thing. A new machine carries a five year warranty, which also covers accessories.
\015\012Also, have you notice a loss of suction? This usually results from a worn out, leaky hose, and with a 30 foot hose can result in a tremendous loss of suction.
\015\012Just take all things into consideration.
\015\012Personally, I'd recommend a new canister vacuum. Depending on the model, they come with a five to twenty year warranty, with five on the accessories from the hose down.

I have a Dyson all-floor model (not the ball). I recently replaced my carpet to a Frieze. Since replacing the carpet, the Dyson is extremely hard to push. It almost forms a "seal" with the carpet. Seems to work fine on Berber carpet and laminate floor. My husband has checked to make sure the brushes are working, hoses are not clogged and belts are OK. I've had it for about a year. It is virutally impossible to push on the new carpet. Any ideas?

Have you adjusted the brush control system. If you look at the link below page 6 will tell you how to adjust. If this is not you vacuum please give the model # of the one you have so I can help you more.\015\012\015\012 ... Dyson DC14 All floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Loud noise I have a brand new Dyson and it is great on all my floors except one of my area rugs when it starts making this really loud vibrating noise. I am not sure why - nothing is stuck in the roller or vacuum and it doesn't make it on any of my other rugs. Also it is really hard to push whereas all the other floors it just glides. I don't want to return it but I also don't want to hear this sound every time I vacuum.

This is the clutch as it jams up in the brush. Usually happens with rugs that are not secured to the floor. ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My first proheat lasted four years so I bought a new one. After I used my Pro Heat for only the fourth time my first issue occured, the gear on the pump that runs the brushes came off, so I had the one from my old proheat, I just changed the gear spindle that is screwed to the pump and fixed that problem but now it will not pump water. That is why I bought a new proheat, I could not get the old one to pump even after a new pump and made sure all lines were not cloged.

On my M&S Air Vac AV425 central vaccuum system, the system usually turns on by inserting the vaccuum hose into one of the vaccuum outlets. However, it now runs continuously. I purchased a brand new P113 Ryobi charger about 2 years ago. It has never worked. If I put a P104 battery in for a charge, it looks like it works correctly. I push the battery tester on the battery itself, and it says full charge, but when I go to use the bateery, it dies right away. I have tried three new P104 batteries. The batteries charge on my charger at work with no problem. The funny thing is, I don't need a battery in the charger and the charger does the same thing, It runs the test

If you have your receipt, check with Ryobi to see if it is still under warranty. It comes with either a 2 or 3 year warranty, depending on when it was purchased. If it is still covered, get it replaced/repaired. If it is not, buy the P117 charger. $3 ... Ryobi P113 18 Volt One Charger 140501001

REMOTE CONTROL IS MALFUNCTIONING & NOT TURNING ON CUSHION - Hello. I bought a used (by near new) Shiatsu+ Massaging Cushion from Ebay. When I installed it today the remote control was faulty. When you push the Power button, the blue light comes on, but none of the other buttons work. When you push the Power button again to turn it off, it clicks & turns itself back on again. So it's running but nothing is happening in the massage cushion. I did see a card in the box saying "For the Shiatsu

Hover Elite Rewind I've only had this vacuum a few months and I really liked it until now. There is almost no suction from anywhere in the vacuum, and I've cleaned all the filters and rollers with my shop vac and made sure that everything was assembled correctly. It used to be really quiet now it is quite loud and it keeps over heating, and shutting off. At this point I have no idea what could cause this problem, the machine is nearly brand new and I can't afford a new one at this point.
