Having problems with your Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum ?

Canister vacuum, as soon as hose is on, or air flow is disturbed, the vacuum shuts off. yesterday the vacuum sucked up tree netting, we pulled it out, and now the vacuum has those symptoms.

Answers :

This is most likely due to a broken or worn out Control Valve Assembly located inside the vacuum.
\015\012First, check the bag and afterfilter. If bag is full or pores are clogged, or the afterfilter is dirty, replace them. Try using the vacuum.
\015\012Next, try turning the control knob on top of the vacuum counter-clockwise as far as it will go. Turn on vacuum. If it continues running, try vacuuming a room to see if it continues without problems. If not, disconnect hose and turn on. If your vacuum shuts off immediately, then the CVA needs replaced.
\015\012If it continues running, place the palm of your hand over the intake. If it turns off, the problem could be the CVA, or simply dirty or clogged tubing connected to the CVA.
\015\012If you're using bags that are made to fit, and/or don't say Home Solutions on the top, the interior of the canister, including the moter and cordwinder, is probably covered with dust.
\015\012Depending on the model and age of your vacuum, unless "made-to-fit" bags were used, it may still be under warranty. To find out check your owner's manual or go to http://www.aerusvacuums.com/support/manuals/, find your vacuum model, and check near the back of the manual for length of warranty. This of course depends on the purchase date.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don't know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

I by accident sucked up the corner of a sheet into the powermate of my vacuum. I turned the vacuum off and pulled out the sheet but now the powermate is no longer working (suction works fine) Is this something I can fix on my own?

I accidentally sucked up a strap from a bag, and when I pulled it out from the vacuum the vacuum now makes a loud noise only when the brush is rotating. Please help! Thank you!

Is it the vacuum making a loud noise, or the power head. I'd say the belt in the power held came apart and is flapping around inside. You may be able to replace, but I recommend taking it to the dealer for repairs. ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums

I was vacuuming with the Dyson DC 17 and sucked up a berber carpet string by accident and after cutting and pulling it all out of the bottom brush part, the brush no longer spins but the suction part works. What do I do?

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?

Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.\015\012This is where a vacuum that won't run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one) ... Kenmore 31913 Progressive Direct Drive Bagged Upright Vacuum

My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not. Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate
