\015\012\015\012Thanks for using FixYa. The issue can be due to\015\012many reasons: probably the bearing is out or the motor itself has gone bad\015\012and/or the impeller is bad. To check what is causing this issue you\342\200\231ll have to\015\012take it apart and then check start with checking the edges of the impeller, if\015\012these edges are broken then it\342\200\231ll cause a loud sound. If this is fine then\015\012check the bearings as they might have failed causing this issue, also check the\015\012fan as that might be loose. Please do accept the solution if the issue is\015\012resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

We have a dyson dc 07 animal the machine was working fine then switched off after returning to the machine minutes later it wouldnt switch on, i removed on off switch cover and used a short piece of wire across the brown wires flicked the wall switch and it worked, aha i thought faulty switch aquired a new one to no avail and now even the short piece of wire trick doesnt work, has the motor died do you think, it wasnt over heating or making strange noises prior to refusing to work

It could be the motor. I'm having to replace the brushes on my DC 05. It appears that you can only get brushes for the YDK motors in the DYSON, not the Panasonic motor. Which might be saying something about the YDK motors. What happens is that the ca ... Dyson DC05 Cylinder Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum

Sewing machine Guru needed ;) Elna Grasshopper (new to me) circa 1950 The light works, but there was no hummm when knee pedal engaged. I have the motor out, and it is very stiff to turn. I'm at a total loss when it comes to motors and electricity. It doesn't smell burned, doesn't smell at all beyond normal machine smells. (Yes, I made detailed notes and diagrams as I took said motor out!) One other note. The long thing which my husband said might be a capacitor -- it looks like

I just purchased a fairly tidy Elna 'Grasshopper' sewing machine (1951) with the same leaking capacitor problem. I carefully removed the capacitor for examination. It is actually three capacitors in one - no chance of a direct modern replacement, but ... Vacuums

Our kenmore progressive model #11634922 was working fine today. And then - it's not. Plugged in - nothing is working on it. We let it cool down (though it didn't seem hot). Still nothing - no light, no motor. Tried it in some other plugs that we know are functioning well - and still nothing. Any idea what might be wrong with it? It's six years old but doesn't get heavy use. Thanks so much ~ Susan Golden

110-220V Dear Sir, I purchased a kirby sentria vacuum cleaner from ebau two weeks ago. I currently resid in the UAE with 220V power. My maid has plugged the vacuum to work with it unaware of the voltage difference, a terrble noise as mentioned came from the cleaner as well as a smell. She unlugged it and stopped t from operating. Can you please let me know how can i assess the damage? If this model has a switch from 110 to 220V IS there a solution with transfromer or motor to make it work? Thank

You may have burnt up the motor field when it was plugged into a 220V power source. But there are drop down transformers you can get to reduce the voltage form 210 to 110. AS Radio Shack or similar store would have them. ... Kirby G4 Bagged Upright Vacuum

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. Thanks, John

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum
