Having problems with your Electrolux Lux 7000 Bagged Canister Vacuum ?

I have an Electrolux EPIC 6500 SR canister. The power cord is pulled all the way out and will no longer retracted. How do I fix this?

Answers :

This canister has a dog ear device on the rewind. If you can push the cord in the rewind spring is off track and the spring and spool will need to be reset by opening the vac.
If the cord will not budge either way , by now it has likely begun to twist and tangle. With vac unplugged gently pull on the cord while reaching at an angle from in front into the cord housing with a fine bladed screw driver. Try lifting gently on the cord spool to release tension on the rewind. If you can feel the spool lift enough to release teh dog ear the cord should rewind
Try pushing the cord back in whilst depressing the retract button
