I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. I do not have a manual for this unit. Can you assist me as to what newer unit is this compatible to and the problem I'm having at present??

On several occasions the belt has come off the Hoover Windtunnel beater shaft and had to be re-installed. Is there any way to prevent it from slipping off? The shaft seems to be made so that the middle if it is wider(thicker than either the end or the part closer to the motor, which, to me, is a bad design so I don't know how to overcome this problem. I'd be very grateful for a permanent solution to this problem. Thanks in Advance, mas

My electrolux oxygen cannister has the "bag change" light on when there is a new bag. The light stays on when the suction power is high (to pick up small particles) and it won't pick up, but the ight goes off when the suction power is low (to pick up big objects). I changed the hepa filter, cleaned the motor filter and changed bags, but all that didn't help.

You may have a clog in the hose, and/or the inlet by the brush roll. A clog will turn on that light as well as a full bag. ... Vacuums

My question is could I buy the part and have my husband replace it or would it be too complicated. Can you still buy an electrolux vacuum comparable to this one and how much are they. My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced.
