Having problems with your Electrolux Vacuums ?

Bad Motor? I have an upright Electrolux Prolux Heavy Duty "Appareil Industriel" and the motor does not seem to be working and turning the brush. Is there a trip switch somewhere to try and reset the motor? I have taken the plastic cover off on the base of the unit and cleaned it well, but can't seem to get the motor to start again.

Faithful Sebo X1 upright, about 12 years old, stopped working today. I replaced old with new dust bag, checked all dust paths were clear, checked main brush was clear/clean, and drive spindle rotated OK with fingers. When power switched on, the two red indicators briefly flash on then off, but nothing more happens, motor does not start - even with power reaching machine. Tried removing all consumables, refitting and turning on a few times to reset, no joy. Removed base cover, both belts were i

At 12 years, this vacuum has had a good long life. I suspect the motor is shot, but it could be due to faulty wiring and connections. A bad switch, break in the power cord, and worn brushes in the motor are other causes.\015\012I recommend ta ... Sebo Automatic X1 Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hi, I have a Dyson DC04, (silver/lime) making ear popping screams! Does not happen all the time, and more noticeable when it is pulled back. The suctions not a problem and no funny smells or strange noises from the motor. Ive taken the base plate off and the belt and brush bar seem fine, but when I turn the belt, it seems to be the motor spindle thats squeaking, almost as if it need oiling, any help please

The belt on my used Eureka Boss 5857 upright slips off the end of the motor shaft every time the vacuum is used. When I turn the brush roll slowly by hand, the belt walks toward the end of the shaft. It looks like there was a plastic projection from the base that snapped off, and maybe that plastic piece used to block the belt from falling off. Do I need to try to reconstruct that plastic piece, or is something else wrong?

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

Now that I just fixed my Lux Legacy canister vacuum, I need help on my other Electrolux Regency Series upright! The vacuum works fine but the rotating brush does not work and the brush motor does not turn on. Tried cleaning the brush and hitting hte reset button to no avail. This upright has a triple setting switch and I checked the each of the wires seem to be attached. Tried rotating the brush by hand and it would not budge. Was going to "encourage" the brush to turn with a set of articula

On the piece that covers the brushbar and motor (the clear plastic piece that has the dyson logo), it looks like a small plastic ridge that holds the cap for the brushbar snapped off. Would too much wobbling of the brushbar cause it to turn on and off? The switch seems fine.

In theory, yes. If the brushbar isn't held firmly, then the belt isn't running smoothly which puts more strain on the motor. This can cause the motor to get hot very quickly which will trip the thermal overload protection. \015\012\015\01 ... Dyson DC15 All Floors - The Ball Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I am trying to disassemble a electrolux 2100. I have looked at instructions given by Chemist 1961 and others. Motor My vacuum cut out as I was using it. After some experimenting I found that the circuit reset had gone off. When I tried a second time while near the motor , there was a flash and again the motor shut off. At this time I am guessing that the motor is faulty. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem?
