Outlet is fine / Plug looks good / chord looks good / I see no obstructions ........Would appreciate any helpful thoughts ....Trying to get Mom's Eureka 2961avz back up and running. Thanks

CAREFUL! This is how my problems started. The cheap switches (and wiring) Eureka is using in some models, especially my model) should provoke a lawsuit imo.
Here's my story, just in case it might help. Mine started with a problem very similar to your, i.e. flickering. If you take apart your handle (top part where switch is - two screws), you might see some fried wires. Anyway, my story ...
Had exactly the same problem with my upright Eureka Model 5893\015\012bagless. Eventually, the handle would get hot, and finally it just\015\012quit. When handle was disassembled, the wires were melted and it was\015\012toast. Ordered a switch after talking\015\012to several repair men. Talked to Eureka, too, and they were absolutely\015\012no help. Cheap wiring and switch made in China. Good luck trying to\015\012find a switch. vacuum-depot.com has switches, so you might try there,\015\012but make sure you get the 3-prong switch (same switch used on Eureka's\015\012Genesis). It is Part #27871.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that you may have a bad switch or the worst scenario would be a bad motor and or armature, and the armature is almost the cost of the new motor, so I would replace the motor, but check the switch and the cord because sometimes the cord looks good but there might be broken wires inside the cord that you can’t see. If the vacuum is less than one year old the motor would be covered under the factory warranty if one year and maybe the switch as well. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. The lady said there's supposed to be a small space between the motor shaft and the outside edge of the vacuum where I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. I don't see it. It looks like the motor shaft goes into a recessed place in the

A family member recently gave me their Kenmore Vacuum Cleaner (model 35821) and I did not notice that the power cord was missing at first. I tried to look closely at the manual online to see if this was something I would be able to purchase or if the vacuum was no longer any good. I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). Any help to solve this problem will be very much appreciated. Tha

No power. I was getting intermittent power with my miele s558 midsize canister, but it was predicated with me fiddling with the retractable cord to get it to come on and then not move the canister while I was vacuuming. Now I can get no power. I have taken it apart and can see no issues with connectors, cord, casings, etc. It all looks fine. It is about 5 years old and I have had no problems with it.

The power head of my DC 21 keeps cutting off as soon as I start moving the hose around. The only way to get it going again is to step on the main switch on the canister, then the whole cycle of off and on starts again. I have replaced the entire power head and tested the continuity of all the wires in the hose and they are good. The repair shop says the PCB is bad but can not get one. What can I do ?

Not much. my only suggestion is to dig through the internet and try and find that pcb it may take awhile but it would be worth a shot. if you dont think you can make the repair take it to repair shop with new pcb and let them do it. ... Dyson Genuine DC-21 "Stowaway" Spare HEPA Filter, Dyson

Miele vacuum Sometimes when I hit the auto roll up cord button or even move the cord, the power vacuum goes off. I move the cord again and it comes back on. I took it apart and looked at the connection from the cord to the auto roller. These are the electrical slip on type connections and are still in good shape. There are no bends in the cord. I air dusted everthing inside, put it together (with no extra parts!). Good news..it powered up so I did not break it, but it still has the same problem.

I have a Series G Kirby Model G7D. The other day when I was vacuuming all of a sudden the TechDrive (Power Drive Assist N/D) pedal fell off. I see the hole that it goes into but when I put it in it's loose and falls out and doesn't control the power drive anymore.
