Having problems with your Eureka 5893AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?

I turn the vacuum on and just make the noise like it's working and the brush is not moving.

Answers :

I tried everything and this is what solved the problem of the brush not turning and no suction on the brush area. I took off the lid where the roller brush is and cleaned the sided of the roller brush, it was frozen tightly from HAIR. Used a small knife to get it all. AI pulled out all that hair and now it works!! yay!!
Check the belt on the side of beater brush take out screws in the bottom lift up plate and check the belt it either to loose or to tight or broke. You have to replace them every so offend.

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. The vacuum is making a noise like something is stuck when it is in the carpet position but not when in the floor position. I can't find anything that is stuck in the areas that I can see. I have cleaned the brush but it does not seem to want to turn. Does this machine need to be oiled so the roller will turn? Is there a way to check inside the motor? Do you think that because the brush won't turn that is making the noise? Do you know of any repair shops in the Lake Havasu City, Arizona area?

As far as the roller brush goes, yes, it does need to be cleaned. Follow the directions to remove it and clean as best you can of all debris. On both ends of the roller brush there will be two "holders" of sort that connect the brush to the frame o ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Dead motor? My 8 year old Miele S251i has worked fine, until I was recently vacuuming and moved the plug from one outlet to another. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem? I've taken the cover off and looked at the cord and seen the motor, nothing looks obviously wrong, but I'm also not mechanical.

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. The "horrible noise" you were hearing before wasn't the clutch! It was the roller brush. If the brush is not turning, all you are doing is burning out your new clutch. My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was basically dry. I did vacuum before shampooing, so the brush part seemed to work great during shampooing, but no water! The small screen was stuck in the crook of the hose that attached to the tank so I did get that out and put it on the small hole on the tank, but it didn't make any difference. I

My vacuum makes a really loud noise when I turn it on. It was working and now it smells like something is burning. I check the belt- it looks ok.

The belt may look okay but it still can be stretched or worn and can be slipping on the motor shaft and thats why you have the burning smell. I would try changing the belt. My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

I bought the Eureka 4703D model vacuum and my very first time powering it on, it was extremely loud - abnormally loud, and I don't know if it is loud like that because I possibly put it together wrong, or there is something wrong with it or it was previously damaged and I would like to know if this is something I can fix myself or do I have to take it back apart and return it to Walmart where I purchased it from.
