Having problems with your Eureka Altima Upright Vacuum Model 2996AVS Vacuum ?

I have a serious clog in the hose on my vacuum. Now that I've found the clog, how do I clear it out? I've tried flexing the hose, which does not work.

Answers :

Do not use a broom stick as that will pack it in tighter in all likely hood. Remove the hose if possible and use a stronger vac to **** it BACKWARD. What goes in and wedges must back out for best results.
Use a broom stick it worked good for my wife on hers. work it back and forth.

Clogged Hose 8 Year old Electrolux Centralux Vacume Cleaner has a clogged hose. Seems something is lodged in the middle of the hose - about half way down. I have tried a "plumbers snake" with no luck, except to clean out some "lint Balls" bot not the obstruction that seems to be like a "nail or stick".

I have a Sears Upright vacuum cleaner, model 116.35922500. The vacuum wasn't picking up. I discovered a clog in the nozzle hose. I attempted to remove the cover of the brush unit to clear the clog. I was unable to remove the cover completely, but was able to clear the clog. My problem now is that I cannot replace the cover correctly. Is there a way to remove this cover? Thanks, Elizabeth

My steam pocket mop seems clogged. Steam does not come out of the mop head. The clog appears to be in the rectangular mop head. The triangular head still works fine. I've tried soaking it in hot water and soaking it with cleaning solutions. They have not worked. If I blow into the connection piece, no air goes through. That's what leads me to believe there is a clog. If you can help, please do. I like the product and haven't been able to use it for awhile because of this. Thanks.

I had the same issue with the rectangular mop and corrected it by disassembling the tube from the rectangular piece. Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ... Vaccuum issue I just bought a Eureka upright model 5892 BVZ, my concern is, I bought it on sale (floor model) and it didn't have a manual with it. I took it home and tried it, and although it appears to be working very well there is not dirt in the catch bin on the front of the unit. My Dyson DC25 animal is having issues. I believe everything is working correctly except I have realized that the mechanism which switches the hose/valve between the wand and the vacuum head isn't working properly. The two gear pieces that move the hose placement aren't close enough together, so they don't work together. It looks like there is a washer that I could potentially remove on the clear gear piece which would allow it to sit closer to the assembly. Would that work? Currently I am

I have some sort of object in the hose of my Epic 6500. I have tried reversing the hose and blowing out the foreighn piece of debeis but this has not worked. Is there a way to remove the plastic connector end to access this end of the hose? Or is there another solution to this problem?

By reversing it, I assume you plugged the hose into the exhaust blower on the top of the machine. If so, insert the other end into the intake and turn one the vacuum. This way the clog is also getting sucked at what should be the loose end.\0 ... Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum

I have a Dyson 17, the Absolute Brand special for pet hair. I think I have a blockage in the hose. Symptoms are: spewing out fuzz balls and small particles. I have checked all the blockage sites recommended by Dyson and all are clear except a small flexible transparent hose, 6 or 7 inches long, curled up underneath the cleaner head/brush bar unit. Any ideas? I've tried to pull out the stuff stuck in there, but I'm afraid to perforate the hose and I don't know any way to disconnect it.
