Having problems with your Eureka Altima Upright Vacuum Model 2996AVS Vacuum ?

Same problem removing the easy empty cup..

\015 The easy empty cup worked the first few times after I purchased the "Altima" style vac. Now, I slide the relaese mechanism to the Left like the instructions say, it becomes loose, but not loose enough to remove! The only way to get this easy empty cup out is by trying to pull it out, then the plastic will break. What a horrible design for this vac. I hope the engineers read this and figure out what not to do next time. I'm not happy with the quality of this product...\015

Answers :

The dark gray plastic slide is separate from the Easy Empty Cup. Just slide the release tab all the way to open position, and then pull the Easy Empty Cup straight up.\012With a little effort, the cup will dislodge from the dark gray plastic platter.
This isn't helpful AT ALL, there's still at least 1/4" of the cup that won't clear... stupid design. Aaarrgghh

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a "trigger" that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the "clear bin," thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won't release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug

Roller problem Roller keeps stopping. I've emptied the dustbin. removed the roller to see if it is clogged, but appears to be nothing impeding it.  It stops on a short napped rug, and even on the wood floor.  Is the spool that the roller slips into driven by a belt? Can I get in there behind the spool?

I am buying a central vac system, can you tell me the better of the easy flo or nutone brand. I want the one with the least problems. It appears to me that the easy flo has fewer problems, thank you

Between the two brands... stay away from the nutone. If you can get it, the Beam, Eureka, or even the Electrolux and Kenmore(sears) would still be better. The warranty would be better on the Beam and Eureka (7 or 10 and one model is even 15 years) ... Easy Flo EF1525 Central System Vacuum

Our Bissell Cleanview II 3576M does a great job except that the filter cup below the dirt cup gets full very fast and the dirt cup barely has anything in it. To clean the whole house, I have to empty the dirt cup and clean the filter several times. It didn't use to work this way. It seems like something is missing, a gasket or seal maybe? I don't think dirt, hair and debris should be going straight to the lower cup and bypassing the upper. I looked at the user guide but can't see why it's happen

I have had my Bissell 6591-X for 2 years. I hate it! No matter what I do all the fuzz, hair, whatever fills up around the upper filter before it even starts to deposit in the cup. It has done this ever since I bought it. No matter how much I take it apart, clean it, clean filters, empty the cup, nothing does any good. I spill more dirt onto the vacuum and floor than ever gets in the cup. I will never buy another Bissell.
