I want to take the fan impellar off the motor to clean it. I cant seem to get the metal housing off of the motor. Do you have to take the nut off the impellar If so how do you stop the shaft from turning thank you.
Very simply you dont take the fan out of the motor. it was not made to be removed or cleaned because its not supposed o get dirty if your using good bags in the vacuum. the best you can do is blow it out with an air hose. ... Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. The lady said there's supposed to be a small space between the motor shaft and the outside edge of the vacuum where I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. I don't see it. It looks like the motor shaft goes into a recessed place in the

Shopvac 90L400 quit working (4 years old). Thought the switch was bad but not the problem. I read that there is a fuse link in the motor that frequently burns up. I tried to take motor apart but not sure of the process. I was able to get to the motor but cannot pull it out of the armature. It appears I have to take the aluminum blower unit off the shaft (it appears to be pressed on with a retaining washer). Do I have to take it off to pull the shaft and motor assembly out? Is that where the fuse

I have a Necchi LYdia 3 machine type 544 The motor was overheating and I removed the bottom cover and examined the motor .It looked fine and ran well. My Sharp EC-l2TWT4 throws belts and I noticed the motor shaft was not running straight. My wife took it to my local dealer in Brainerd,Mn and they said it was fine.So I took it apart and found the plastic motor housing had melted at some point letting the motor twist out of alignment. Other than this, everything works great. Can I order this plastic housing piece somewhere?
I checked the schematics for that model and the motor housing for that model is no longer available. Your best bet is to either attempt to find a used part or trade it in and get a new unit. Hi On a Hoover convertable model U4497-900 I'm trying to replace the fan. The old fan cracked, then flew apart. I have the new fan, have the motor assembly removed, but can't seem to get the pulley nut off the motor to replace the fan. Is there a trick to this or should I just try to muscle it? Thanks.
I need to replace the brush motor on my Bissell 9400...I can't figure out how to remove the existing motor. Took the clip off but can't get the gear off the shaft and the hole in the side isn't large enough to push the gear through...what's the secret?
Vorwerk VK121 vacuum cleaner - smell of burning from housing enclosing motor. How do I get into the housing to inspect the motor? After tilting the bag sideways, there are two screws holding the housing visible, but there seems to be a thrid fixing inside the point where the handle shaft is attached - is the handle simply clipped in place? Thanks
Yes the handle is clipped in place and should come out when the button in front is pushed. Remove the screws you wrote about. After that the puzzle begins. At the bottom of the vacuum where the head is attached, remove the head by pressing the but ... Vacuums
Rick E1, it looks like the Motor Pulley, Elna #440152-20 needs to be replaced on my 722010 model (flat on one side from standing around. Also, any idea where I could find a reasonably priced Motor Pulley.

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John
It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum
My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced.
