My brand-new Hoover Windtunnel T-Series Pet Rewind Bagless vac simply shut off while I was using it and now I can't get it to turn back on. I've emptied the dirt collection bin and let the unit sit unplugged for 30 minutes to reset the Thermal Protector as per the manual. I've even tried a few different outlets just in case a fuse got tripped, but the vac still won't turn on. What happened? Do I need to return this vac to the store? I just bought it 5 hours ago.

I bought the vac, used, but was told there was nothing wrong with it. I called the company, and was given the impression that it will be a huge headache to return it. Here's the best part: when I received it, I opened the box: it was broken. Clearly the highest internal piece of the vacume, whent he handle is removed, was cracked off, and in two pieces. The handle will not lock into place, so if I were to vacume forward, see ya, and the vac is back in pieces. Any idea how to rig this to get it t
