Having problems with your Eureka Vacuums ?

I have a eureka power paw that keeps breaking belts. there doesnt seem to be a part that keeps the belt in place

Answers :

My belt keeps breaking too, but worse is that I can't find out the size for replacing. Who knows the size I need for the Eureka Power Paw?
Make sure the roller and turbine bushings are clear of obstructions (hair, etc) and spin without excess resistance. As for a lack of barrier or belt guide, make sure that the bushing blocks on either end of the roller (and turbine, but most importantly the roller) are installed identical to each other (otherwise the roller may be in on an angle causing the belt to mis-track). Possibly a part may be missing or improperly installed, but not likely. What's important to remember is Eureka (Electrolux Homecare Products) designed the Power Paw as a cheap, quick source of income to add onto their uprights to cash into the ever-lucrative market of pet owners dealing with pet hair. Like their upright vacuums, Eureka/lux know extremely well the importance of designing their product with a very FINITE life-expectancy, and hence expecting this product to be anything of a long-term or durable solution is evidence only of you having been mislead by marketing. Of all the turbine-driven tools in use today, this one is the most inexpensive, disposable I've had the pleasure of working with. I got one free when they hit the scene. I took it back to work still in the package after seeing its track record evolve.

Long-term solution if you love these turbine-type tools? (and you should, they're great and solve major issues. I own several different ones and am very attached to them as attachments!). Go to a vacuum store and find a robust, long-life version of what these little things are trying to be. They're in a higher dollar-range, but so's a Power Paw if you start replacing it every few months. Ask for one made by Wessel-Werk. German engineering, been around for decades. The made-in-china knock-offs are better than the power paw, but if you're up for it, the actual tool made by Wessel is the benchmark by miles. The only thing possibly comparable in long-term quality and durability is called a RugRat by guys in our industry, and sold by Vacuflo and Kirby and such for decades and decades now. Most vacuum vendors should be able to hook you up. :)

I have a Eureka 5902AVZ and the brushroll does not work. when i remove the belt, which is not torn nor worn out, the motor spins perfectly fine. Though when i put the brushroll back into place, it shows that the motor is trying to spin, but with resistance. it seems the brushroll will not spin if locked into place, because there is no attachment on the left side of the brushroll that will allow it to spin freely with the belt. am I missing some parts or is there something else wrong?

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I am Kelly. \015\012\015\012You have correctly identified the problem as the brush roll itself. \015\012\015\012There is a bearing under each end cap of the brush roll. You can gain access to the ... Eureka 5902AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum

Hoover Wind Tunnel 7500 Brush not Turning. I have replaced the Brush and the belt. The problem does not seem to be either to me. I believe might be a missing part. The place were the belt hooks on is a metal pole which never seems to grip the belt well. In fact it seems loose most of the time and slips on the brush, causing the belt to eventually burn up. Could there be a missing plastic or rubber piece meant to hold the belt taught  on the metal pole?

Powerhead woes Drive belt for power head beater brush on Hoover S3755 keeps jumping off drive motor shaft when vacuuming low pile carpets like oriental rugs unless minimal suction is used. Any tricks to keeping the belt in place other than this?

When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. My FIL purchased an Electrolux bagless canister vacuum model EL5 76501 last year. When I tried to use it today, the hose keeps pulling out of the power brush whenever I pull it towards me. it doesn't seem like anything has broken off. The only thing I noticed was that the rubber ring washer seems to be flattened. Could it be something that simple or do you think some part has fallen off and gone missing? Regards, Craig Somersett

My Eureka/The Boss doesn't seem to have the suction power it had. However, when I place my hand under the hose, it has good suction, then when I try to pull in a small particle, it doesn't, unless I have the hose nozzle completely over the particle. The vac is 10 yrs. old. I cleaned everything. Someone said the belt. Would the belt matter if the hose doesn't **** well? It is just old and worn out? It did shut off recently do to overheating. I'm using (or WAS using) a Eureka ''the boss'' model 8803.
