Having problems with your Eureka Vacuums ?

No matter how many new belts we put in the brush will not rotate when it touches the floor. If you hold it straight up the brush rotates like crazy. Why is the brush not cleaning the floor. Yes, I have the right belt. It is R we have the boss. 12 amps. Model 4870

Answers :

There is probably an accumulation of slippery stuff on the shaft that drives the belt. You can scrape it clean with a sharp knife or a razor blade. You might need to use some kind of solvent to get it clean, and if you do, be sure to follow up with something like Windex on a rag. You don't want to leave anything oily on the shaft.

I live in Mexico and have a Electrolux Easy Box Vacuum...I am looking for a hard floor brush that will fit the hose as my old Sears brushes are a little too small. This model is bagless and may only be sold here, but I do not care for the floor/rug brush combo brush as it does not clean tile floors very well.I would order and have a friend in the states bring to me.Thank you,Linda Staton Cozumel Mexico

My Hoover spin/scrub floor cleaner has stopped scrubbing- the brushes spin for a few seconds right after turning it on, then stop until I turn it off and then on again. How can I fix this? I do not have a lot of money. I have taken off and cleaned the brushes and bottom vacuum opening.

Hi giacoma11,The common cause for this problem is the belt of your vacuum. It could be that the belt came loose or already worn out and needs replacement. I have a Bissell Powersteamer Pro Deluxe, Model 8804 shampooer. I got this bright idea to take the brush off as it was full of hair and debree. Upon putting it back on it appears I'm not getting the brush on properly. Does the belt go around the end with the grooves? Also do the grooves go on the right or left side? From my view point I am looking at the machine with it lying on it's back and I am sitting on the floor looking at the bottom of machine. Sure hope I haven't confused you too m

Sounds like you could have an elevator broken (part #2000010). You will have to take the top off to replace them or to check to see if one of them is broke. How is the V-belt tension adjusted (Hoover Model U6439-900)or how do I know if the tension is correct? There seems to be a lot of "play" in the belt and I'm wondering if that is the reason the brush roll only turns as the wheels turn, regardless of the carpet height setting. And yes, the brush roll is set for carpet, not hard floor. Or is the cause of the problem something other than the V-belt? A new flat belt was installed when the machine was professionally serviced so I assume (?) that was a

The V-Belt is not adjustable. There are two ways the belt has no tension: (1) when the handle is upright, a mechanical lever takes the drive tension off the belt, and (2) the brush roll lever setting you described. My pet hair eraser smells like it is burning all the time and sounds funny. The brush will not spin once you have it on the carpet unless you hold it up a little while you are cleaning but then the whole vaccume is not on the floor. I have cleaned all filters and all and it does the same thing. My sister has the same machine because I raved at how wonderful this thing was for pet hair and mine has not worked right since it was about a year old and hers has had the same exact problem since it was

We had the same problem, and it turned out that the roller wheel height setting had broken, for no apparent reason, and was "floppy" so we had to lock it in to one setting with epoxy. Limits utility, but it works. Sort of. ... Bissell Upright Vacuum - The Pet Hair Eraser 1 ea Vacuum

Hoover model U6476910 I was cleaning out the bearing sections of the brush when a spring type pressure washer fell on the floor. I did not see the washer when I took it apart and I can't tell where it goes in order to put it back together. It is very thin and measures about 5/8 inch with an 11/32 inch hole. Frank Nething

Hi frank this sounds like its a compression washer, you normally find these on the end of the roller to even out any movement from side to side, as you look at the hoover's brush head, it should slip into a groove on one side with the roller...hope t ... My floor brush stopped spinning, I cleaned everything out as per your directions in other posts and following the instructions in the manual. I have a new Euro-Pro shark model S3101. Used it one time and while I was doing my tile floor in my kitchen I reached under a cabnet to clean and hit the floor kick kind of hard and broke the head off of the shark. I have only the T shaped end on the shark now with the cleaning head broken off and looks unrepairable. I did kind of hit the floor kick hard but the plastic broke like glass.
