Having problems with your Euro-Pro HEPA Shark EP238 Bagged Canister Vacuum ?

My vacuum stopped working and tripped a circuit breaker in my apartment. I plugged it into a circuit with higher amperage, and the circuit tripped after the vacuum ran for a few seconds then a bit of smoke puffed out of it. I assume the motor is burned out. Can I repair this? Considering buying a refurbished one for around $70 - which is probably less than round trip shipping back to the manufacturer (this is way out of warranty).

I have an electrolux genesis upright vacuum that I bought used about 8 years ago. It has been A great vacuum the best I ever had. I thought the belt had come off so I took it in for repair. They called today and said that the brush rotor motor was bad and it would be around 148.00 dollars to repair. My question is could I buy the part and have my husband replace it or would it be too complicated. Can you still buy an electrolux vacuum comparable to this one and how much are they. I love this vac

We have a 2001 Kirby G vacuum. The cleaning lady was using it in one room, then brought it to another room and plugged it into another receptacle. It wouldn't start. Naturally we tried other outlets on other circuits without success. Is a switch or motor demise this abrupt? Is it worth pursuing repair?

Hi,Such an abrupt fault is more than likely a very simple fault, such as a loose wire or damaged electrical cord or a faulty switch. I would most certainly check or have these components checked before purchasing a new machine. They should be r ... Vacuums

VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). The Handle Release Foot Pedal - Part #38434026 broke soon after purchase but I finally found a source to replace this item. The problem is that now that I have the repair part I cannot figure out how to remove the old pedal and install the new one. The housing appears to be one piece of solid plastic. Any ideas, PLEASE! Peter

There are 2 tabs that stick out on the release, they fit in slots, so from the top look down and you can see them, using a flatblade screwdriver that will fit in there, push the side in to release it, which isn't easy, but it can be done. When you g ... Vacuums

Does not vacuum effectively. It smells like it is burning. I have only had this one year and hardly use it. When I brought it to a local vacuum repair place, he wanted to sell me another one, and, of course, wanted to trade mine towards another.

Miele vacuums are famous for having hair and carpet fibers getting caught in the roller bearings. That can cause a bad smell. The motors in Mieles are very well built and I have a hard time believing that the suction motor is going bad in 1 year. ... Miele S548 Bagged Canister Vacuum

My hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner's motor spindle keeps overheating. Because of the high temperature, it keeps burning through belts (the big, wide ones). I have taken it in to the vacuum repair shop about three times now, and the problem has never been fixed. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this or should I just buy a new vacuum?

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

I have a Series G Kirby Model G7D. The other day when I was vacuuming all of a sudden the TechDrive (Power Drive Assist N/D) pedal fell off. I see the hole that it goes into but when I put it in it's loose and falls out and doesn't control the power drive anymore. When I shook the vacuum I heard something rattling around inside the vacuum head. So I unscrewed the bottom and looked inside and found a small metal part labeled K3 on one side and T on the other side. It looks like it would fit

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

My Sanitaire Commercial vacuum SC5815 A-2 does not turn on. It is quite new and seems to be "totally dead." Serial number: 0632005978 It is firmly plugged in, I have tried numerous electrical outlets, and I have tried the on-off switch numerous times. I wonder if there is a simple circuit breaker switch somewhere on the vacuum that I could switch without going to a repair shop? Or, I wonder if some latch is loose that shuts off the current, but I have checked the latches and they are clo

Electrolux central vac powerhead (N106M) frequently tripping built-in circuit breaker. It seems to be only when pushing in one direction, why would the motor draw more current in one direction? (it doesn't seem to be related to carpet "grain")

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). I heard that a class action lawsuit against Oreck Vacuum is being started because of all the problems customers are having with their vacuums. Does anyone know about this? I have two old identical 5842's that I use in the garage and around the house. The belt broke on one so I bought a bag of 2 genuine Eurika "U" belts, which is the correct belt for this vacuum. They were obviously smaller than the original belt because they were not stretched out. When I put the new belt on it lasted about 20 minutes and then came off. I put it back on and ran the vacuum with the cover off to see what was wrong. Everything looked fine except the belt rides to the outside edge of
