Having problems with your Euro-Pro Shark SC-505 Handheld Steam Vacuum ?

Frozen top The top of my Shark sc505 is on so tight that I cannot get it off even with heavy duty tools. It appears to be frozen and will not move. How can I get it off so I can use it again?

Answers :

I just bought one from a thrift store we were able to get the top off! We used wd 40 and vice grips and it came off. The machine looks like it was only used once and someone left the water in it. I immediately put white vinegar in it and rinsed it out to remove the sediment that gets in it. There was ALOT. Secret is if you put a bit of white vinegar in it when you steam it will keep the sediment from forming. A bit of CLR now and again wouldn't hurt either. I just didn't have any tonight. We managed to break off the plastic piece off the top, but the metal part that actually seals it is still in tact and it works perfectly. If anyone has a replacement top I would love to buy if off you. Send me an email at: [email protected]
This seems to be a common problem with the SC505 model. I ended up breaking mine off and now trying to sell off the attachments to get some money back.

I've had my Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner now for approximately 9 months and been very happy with my purchase. However, It is used sparingly maybe twice a week at the very most. The problem is when I try to use the item on my carpet, you have to push really hard to get it to move. It's as though the suction power is far to strong. It certainly doesn't glide as I think it should. It still picks up as usual but I cannot imagine that having to 'force' the machine to move is the normal operating procedu

My bissell proheat upright steam cleaner is spraying out through the attachments just fine, but will not spray to the floor when using upright. we've taken it apart to find that there is no water at all going through one of the hoses, but it appears the hose is connected behind the on/off and heat switches, we can't seem to figure out how to get in there to replace that hose....any suggestions on how to access this?? just curious how you would get in to replace the hose, we know it is the hose..

The handle for my Eureka 5993 AVZ was getting very hot when used. Finally, the wires around the switch melted and now the vacuum will not work. What is wrong? Is the switch bad? The wires only melted in the immediate vicinity of the three-prong switch. Nothing else appears to be wrong; the vacuum worked fine when it was running - except for the handle getting hot. Hello! I purchased the cascade 170 internal filter for my tadpole this past Tuesday. All seemed to be well until I returned home from work this Sunday morning to find him dead. There was a film of little white bubbles all of the top layer of the water. The filter was submersed however it appeared that some of the water had evaporated but was still over the top of the filter. Is there a problem with the filter or the level of water?
